When Mitt Romney returns to a favorite forum on Saturday, will he be able to make it three in a row?
The former Massachusetts governor has won the closely-watched presidential straw poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference in the past two years.
He even prevailed last February when he used the conference to announce he was quitting the GOP nomination race, making Senator John McCain the presumptive nominee. Romney drew 35 percent to 34 percent for McCain.
In a rousing speech, Romney hit all the hot buttons for conservatives, telling the conference he was ending his campaign so the party could unite. "In this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign be a part of aiding a surrender to terror," he said.
In the formative stages of the presidential race, Romney won the 2007 straw poll with 21 percent, with former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani finishing second with 17 percent.
This year, the winner will be anointed the very early front-runner for 2012. The ballot includes besides Romney and Giuliani, Florida Governor Charlie Crist, former House speaker Newt Gingrich, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, Texas Representative Ron Paul, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, and South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford. There's also Undecided and a space on the ballot for write-ins.

Knowing the GOP they will probably give it to either Huckabee and Romney.
I’d bet on Sarah.
Charlie Crist - friend of Dorothy RINO! LOL! Scum.
Sanford is the man or Sarah is also great. I would have taken Mitt over Juan McCain any day. Thank Crist for giving us McCain instead of Mitt.
Rudy, McCain, Romney, Crist, or Huckabee are all bad news for the GOP.
They need to check their egos at the door and do what is good for the country and the GOP and just say NO!
Not a huge Romney fan, but it makes me sad to think of how much different things could be right now if he were president...
Guess you don’t know what CPAC is......you ought to go to one some time.......you would be right at home, seriously!
The GOP still doesn’t get that we are sick of RINOS. The media and the GOP gave us McCain, we had no choice. If they were smart they would promote Sarah Palin, Mark Sanford, and Bobby Jindal, but instead they are trying to make Jindal into another McCain by molding him into something he’s not. That is why Sarah stays away from all of these GOP events, she wants nothing to do with those elitists. I would have loved for her to attend CPAC but with her schedule and all the flack she gets about leaving her state, it would not have been in her best interest to go

Willard's supporters are nothing but pseudo cons and sell-outs to the conservative cause and Romney is a loser.
Hey I’d love to go to CPAC to tell the GOP the RIGHT thing to do but I doubt they would let me in

Well, I definitely won’t be voting for a member of a cult-group, like Romney...
I would vote for Sarah Palin, though, being an Evangelical Christian (and as I said, before — not for a member of a cult-group like Romney...)
That is why Sarah stays away from all of these GOP events, she wants nothing to do with those elitists.
Riiight, thats why she turned down the invitation to the SUPER elite Alfalfa club dinner in D.C., oh wait, she went to that. Going to elite events must be part of her super secret genius plan to remain “outside the beltway.”
She was invited by a guy who has said nothing but wonderful things about her, plus she was already there in Washington discussing the stimulus bill with other lawmakers. It’s not like she flew there just for the purpose of the Alfalfa dinner
LOL
Oh, your that troll that loves coming on here. Keep waiting by that mailbox, your Obama check will come, free gas, free mortgage, and free food..just keep on waiting, and hoping, it will come
It is not a GOP event.
Noooooooo
