CHICAGO - Whoever ends up winning former Rep. Rahm Emanuel's congressional seat in a special election has some catching up to do.
Congress is already in session and key legislation has been passed, chiefly a massive $787 billion stimulus package that will mean a cash infusion for states like Illinois strapped by the recession.

After reading this little blurb it reminded me of someone taking out a second mortgage or a home equity line of credit on their home for a massive infusion of cash only to come to the realization that the money needs to be paid back with interest. However in this case it’s actually much worse than that. At least in these cases you are borrowing off of equity. In the governments case they are borrowing out of thin air. This borrowed money will need to be paid back by the next generation of Americans who are going to be asked to provide for our wants and needs in old age under a crushing burden of debt. Can any one say generational warfare? Instead of congratulating themselves, these politicians who foisted this monstrosity on the public should be wallowing in shame at the damage they have done.
