Democrats, freed from former President George W. Bush's veto threats, are gutting the previous administration's programs with funding cuts and policy changes in the omnibus spending bill that the House passed Wednesday.
.....same-sex domestic partners of federal workers.... eliminating D.C. school vouchers.... slashes funds for abstinence education, erases language prohibiting a "fairness doctrine" law..... spending bill would be followed soon by expanded funding for stem-cell research and a hate crimes law.....
[Barney] Frank said. "That's what happens when you have an election and one side wins and the other side loses."......
"What goes around comes around," said Rep. Lynn Woolsey, co-chairman of the 71-member Progressive Caucus.... She said "fixing things" was what voters demanded. "That's why they voted for Barack Obama for president and why we have such a large majority in the House and in the Senate"........
Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana, chairman of the House Republican Conference, said the bill "wages war on many of the most cherished policies of social conservatives of the past quarter century." He said he was not surprised that Democrats are relishing the moment. "It reflects their liberal social agenda. I don't know how happy the American people will be," he said. "They will be deeply disappointed how quickly one-party liberal government has departed from their values."

Too bad the Republicans never get this. Bush should have cleaned house when he was elected the first time. Instead, he let most of the Democrats stay and even added more as time went on.
For example: Paulson (D-Goldman Sachs), and his assistant, who apparently wrote the TARP bailout, Geithner (D-Tax Evasion).
“Democrats use omnibus to gut Bush policies”
May they be thrown under that same omnibus...
That sure sounds "bipartisan" to me!
Can you imagine how Dubya or leading GOP Congressmen would have been crucified by the MSM if they had tried to get away with statements like that after winning elections?
Everything for the Party. Nothing outside the Party.
You better back this Omnibus over America again, Senator. I think I just seen her start to get up.
I don't mean to be rude or anything, but just what, exactly, did President Bush ever veto?
When he threatened a veto, they usually didn’t force him to keep his promise.
“... eliminating D.C. school vouchers...”
That is a direct contradiction of Obama’s Tuesday Speech & the promises there-in.
If Senator Reid and his cronies aren’t bright enough to defend the DC Charter schools, we’ll soon see in our President has a backbone, as well as a Veto Pen.
E.H.C.
He vetoed a few things. For one, a bill expanding funding for unethical stem cell research; he vetoed it twice in the last two years.
Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. Genesis 19;24,25.
so it was written..so it shall be done
Here's a typical photo of a Sensitivity Training workshop:
OK, I lied. The actual caption was: "Men in loincloths jostle each other during a mud festival at Mimusubi shrine in Yotsukaido, east of Tokyo. Participants took part in the ritual held in the muddy rice paddy to wish for good harvest and health for babies. (Yuriko Nakao/Reuters)" ..... Hmmm. "Men In Loincloths". Kind of sits at the opposite end of the testosterone spectrum from "Men In Black".
Schadenfreude for the kids of Obama voters being stuck in the public school pit.
But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: ...Matt. 10:23.
The only promises BO will keep are raising taxes, gutting the military, and spending money.
If Senator Reid and his cronies arent bright enough to defend the DC Charter schools, well soon see in our President has a backbone, as well as a Veto Pen.
You can't be serious.
I can’t even look at him anymore, what a vile human being.....
I hate these arrogant, childish, spiteful democrats.
There, I said it. Come and get me.
