We have no reps, that matter.
Its because he is a crook.
No, we ought to rescind the citizenship of children born of illegal parents. Had their parents not broken the law, the children wouldn’t be here.
Remotely possible with a Republican Congress.
Absolutely impossible with a Democrat Congress.
Elections, unfortunately, have consequences.
We have between twenty and thirty-five million illegals inside the United States, and I’m supposed to get all teary because only ten thousand parents per year have been jettisoned beyond our borders over a ten year period.
And lady, at just about any age, children are able to understand cause and effect, or the law of adverse reactions.
If you do something wrong, you are vulnerable to the law.
Personally I think the 14th Amendment is quite vague about the automatic citizenship of children born to illegal aliens in the United States. I don’t consider them to be citizens.
I believe there is a popular misconception across the board with regard to this.
The anger should be directed towards the parents who put their children in this situation. Child endangerment
Garcias abrupt deportation is an example of how tens of thousands of parents are separated from their children when immigration law catches up with them.

Garcias abrupt deportation is an example of how tens of thousands of illegal aliens are caught due to good law enforcement by those who are employed to protect and serve American citizens...
These so called parents should also be busted for child abuse and child endangerment...
I am sure that him being Hispanic has nothing to do with this....
Child endangerment

It's not "a popular misconception", it is the law -- as determined by the courts. I'll offer a citation if I can find one quickly.
"Anchor babies" are a reality.
At the same time, as you note, the writers of the 14th Amendment clearly had no intention of making it apply to the children of persons who were in the U.S. illegally. Their statements on the floor of the Congress are unequivocal.
Unless, of course, you are a liberal judge...
Accordingly, since it is an interpretation of an amendment to the Constitution, it probably won't take a Constitutional amendment to alter the decision. A statute passed by Congress, telling the courts to bug out of this issue would be sufficient.
But, still, nobody's bothered to do it...
THIS RESTORES ANCHOR BABIES!!!!!
THIS IS VERY VERY BAD
anchor babies were abolished in 1996
Custody follows the PARENTS, not the child.
FAMILIES ARE RARELY SEPARATED THE WHOLE FAMILY GETS DEPORTED.
It also means a child born of the citizen OUTSIDE THE USA does not automatically become a citizen unless the citizen parent has lived in the USA for 10 years.
anchor babies were eliminated in 1996.
this would restore them.
birthright citizenshhip is not the same as anchorbaby.
two seperate legal issues.
I agree with your take on the actions taken by the courts. I still think that most people are convinced that the 14th Amendment actually says those kids are automatically citizens.
It really doesn’t.
This is an instance where an activist court legislated from the bench IMO.
I agree with your solution to this problem. It is disturbing that action was taken on this issue prior to this.
Another lost opportunity.
Republicans had a once in a lifetime chance to correct some of the mistakes of the past and put America back on the right track but they were determined to out-pig and out-pander the democrats.
Their shortsighted selfishness led to the rise of Obama and will cost this and future generations untold misery. It will also most likely lead to the loss of our constitutional Republic.
That's a hell of a legacy.
Nope, it don't matter.
What part of illegal alien did he not understand?
Round 'em up, ship 'em out.
Good riddance.
Has nothing to do with what? Were you intentionally trying to be vague?
They are fully aware that this could happen, but they came here anyway. They either did not consider or purposefully disregarded the consequences when they decided to brake the law.
My suggestion if they do not want the family to be separated: Take their children with them. I would.
Explain the problem, please.
