Obama’s speech was was okay, more hot air then substance. Jindal’s was more indepth though, better organized.

I like John Thune.

When will the GOP start grooming him for a leadership role? He’s also very good looking and has an attractive family.

Good golly folks, people over at FR should stop beating on decent folks who want to make a difference. At least Gov. Jindal wants to bring the GOP back to its conservative roots.

Considering the source was CNBC this was probably a verbal expostulation in conjunction with a rectal orgasm.

Well, you could always run. :-)

A dose of reality. Stop looking for a Hollywood production. Doesn’t exist. Didn’t exist with Reagan an actual former actor, whom some people might be surprised to know actually sweated, did look old at time’s, and did stumble with his words here and there.

Obama is the closest a politician has come from central casting because, well, he is a Hollywood and media created figure. And yet he gets a deer in the head lights look, stumbles over his words even with a teleprompter, and can’t deliver a line on cue apparently interrupting the speaker tonight.

What I will never get is why conservatives spend so much time looking for a mythical figure with never a hair out of place and less concentration on someone who is close to perfect on issues. It annoyed the hell out of me people went for Romney because of the way he looked and spoke over others who were better on the issues and in the end we ended up with a loser as the candidate.

Palin, Sanford, and Jindal are just fine. Strongest candidates in years on our aisle. All have things they can work on, what of it. They’ve got three years to do so. They all strike me as intelligent and capable of doing so if inclined.

“Knee jerk hate doesn’t move the ball down field. Critical thinking does.”

Preach it brother. But to keep to the topic, oratory is pretty important too. Reagan had the skill in spades, but as an actor, he had to learn to internalize his script. It also helped that he believed what he was saying. It's unfortunate that we have to rely on politicians to fill rosters of candidates.

she does not come across as quite smart enough, quick enough somehow to be entrusted as the leader of the free world

Who are you, Peggy Noonan's brother?

But I guess that if you go out making speeches and running for office, that makes you a politician, whatever yer first calling is.

I locked out MSNBC on my remote and have no idea what password I entered.

I can't even watch it by accident.

“The guy spat out a sea of bold faced lies that anyone with a fourth grade education would have caught even the AP had to actual note of his lies .”

I’m glad I ‘missed’ it.
I dont kow what is worse.
Hearing liberal lies in a speech that sounds like Jimmy Carter.
Or hearing liberal lies in a speech crafted to evoke Ronald Reagan.

An Obama ‘good speech’ is a dangerous thing - it only sends further towards socialism.

>To be honest (as much as it pains me), Obama was excellent and Jindhal sucked. Bobby is not the guy. Sarah is not the guy. Better find another guy cause neither of these two honestly stand a chance.

Well, four years is a long ways away. How do you know that either of them won’t improve over that period?

Jindal is ok but his allure is his skin tone to the feebleminded here as much as anything.”

Hogwash. the Jindhal allure is that he is smart, ethically clean, a true conservative, catholic of the heart, speaks well, has been an effective leader with accomplishments, and is strong in many areas where GWB and your ‘typical GOP leader’ was weak. His skin tone only helps to represent how he break many other stereotypes.

I can’t believe there are Freepers that still watch MSNBC.”

I was thinking the same thing.

Only reason to watch is to get names of sponsors & inform them you are boycotting their products since they sponsor trash. I did that with the Chicago Tribune as did many others and they are now begging for subscribers and bankrupt.
