Israel shouldn’t worry about Obama cutting aid; they should be concerned that Obama might pull a Nixon-esque “China” on Israel, and normalize diplomatic relations with Hamas instead of Israel.

It's not good for Israel to be dependent on the U.S., or vice versa. It's also humiliating for one nation to be the ward of another. I suppose national survival is more important than pride, but there's got to be a better way.

With the election of Obama, Israel must understand that all U.S. presidents will not be automatically pro-Israel (although Obama is not really anti-Israel), and self sufficiency is another aspect of national security. I think they understand this perfectly well, but maybe it's hard to get off the dole if you've been on it long enough.

Actually this is good. The less aid the US gives to Israel, the more Israel will be able to make her own decisions as the US will have less clout over Israeli decisions. Israel needs to make her own decisions about how to survive, and the US should be butting in whether a Democrat or Republican is in office.

If eventually the US withdraws all support for Israel could set up an Ezekiel 38-39 scenario. The Russo-Iran alliance could then feel free to attack Israel but we know what happens with that.... don’t ask me...read it instead.
