I cannot stand Obama. His ability and desire to manipulate scares me. I have lurked for many years - since 2000- but recognizing his use especially at the beginning of FDR speeches sent me over the edge. I wanted to post around reply 900+.
The best parts of the speech - at the beginning, mostly - were FDR. Trouble is he had to come back to the present. Speaking of the present were the weakest parts of the speech. I agree with the poster that said the public “will lap it up”.
