I heard a rumor that the NYT is merging with the National Enquirer, because the Enquirer’s balance sheet is strong enough to save both....
IMO, the Enquirer would probably raise the credibility of the NYT, so that would be a sound decision. LOL

NY city is the last bastion of prosperity to fall. Within 12 months let us see the NYT crow about BO popularity when unemployment, foreclosures and credit card defaults hit the NYC metropolitant area as Wall Street sheds up to 250 000 jobs and cut pay/bonuses. Mayor Bloomberg whom I disagree with most of the time is the only polis that gets it and is planning to cut payroll and services along with tax increases to balance budget shortfalls. Everyone else is just increasing taxes and fees.
Worthy of a rewind my friend! Too bad the market is so tied in to the government these days.
Well I salute the job cuts and attempts to get spending under control, but I don’t think raising taxes is the way to go. The good citizens of New York will have it tough enough without that.
As for the loss of Wall Street cash, New York is about to get one hell of a wake up call. And if B.O. thinks he’s going to be popular up there, I think you’ve pegged the reality he is about to realize.
