Each person is descended from a certain combination of ancestors. Remove any ancestor from the picture and the descendants never come into existence. The slaves who met and had children in America were from widely separated places in Africa--if they or their ancestors had had the good fortune to stay put, they would have had other sets of children by other mates rather than the ones they had in America.
It's ridiculous to spend one's life bitter over the misfortunes suffered by one's ancestors before you were born. The odds against any individual coming into being are astronomical--if you're here, you should make the most of it.

I still remember when he, with great media moral outrage, cancelled a stage run here in Cincy, because his power group so ordered. The local police had dared attempt to enforce our law against one of their own.
Buchanan, meanwhile, has always readily taken on ANY group, and especially the most impregnable and powerful, no matter how pervasive its control or ability to punish him.

They were enslaved because they were weaker than the en slavers who compassionately sold them to the slavers.
Recall Rwanda and Biafra and Darfur and the deaths of hundreds of thousands. Had not the ancestors been enslaved they likely would have been slaughtered.
