I don't know...but I'm just reposting what I saw posted, which seems more researched and more recent than the other link.

retire05:

Here is the history (remember to keep the lot numbers separate as that is important):

6/18/01 - Henrietta and Corey Hughes purchases Lot 18 and 19, Block 35 of Lehigh Acres

8/17/01 - Henrietta and Corey Hughes purchases Lot 22, Block 35 of Lehigh Acres

10/29/01 - Henrietta and Corey Hughes receives building permit for Lot 19, Block 35 of Lehigh Acres. The builder is Holiday Builders of Cape Coral, Florida

10/29/01 - (same day) Henrietta and Corey Hughes secures mortgage financing from Riverside Bank of The Gulf Coast, Cape Coral, Florida (this would be for the building of the structure constructed by Holiday Builders) in the amount of $124,400.00

7/15/03 - Forclosure filed by Riverside Bank of the Gulf Coast on Lot 19, Block 35 Lehigh Acres in an amount of slightly over $123,600.00 (meaning she paid about $800 of the mortgage in 21 months)

10/16/2003 - Mortgage satisfaction filed by Riverside Bank granting ownership to Henrietta and Corey Hughes for Lot 19, Block 35 of Lehigh Acres for $124,400.00

6/30/05 - Lot 22, Block 35 of Lehigh Acres sold to Homeland, LLC.

8/9/06 - Quit claim deed signed by Henrietta Hughes to Corey Hughes for Lot 18, Block 35 of Lehigh Acres.

She originally owned 3 lots, #18, #19 and #22. Number #22 was sold in 2005 (when she claims she lost her home) to Homeland, LLC in June, 2005 and #18 was transfered to her son, Corey Lamont, on 8/9/06 (signing a quit claim deed gave him total ownership of #18 which they had bought jointly).

I can find no record of any subsequent sales of the home build on Lot 19.
From http://sweetness-light.com/archive/more-background-on-henrietta-hughes:

retire05:

U NO HOO, yep, that’s the house. Here’s what it looks like happened.

House was build and they walked on it. Forclosure was started and finalized on 7/15/03. The house was then sold on 10/10/03 (recorded on 10/16/03) and on the same day, Riverside Bank released a “satisfaction” against Henrietta and Corey Hughes, which absolves Henrietta and Corey Hughes from any further financial liability (this is done to give the lien holder full ownership).

After they repossed the home, Riverside then sold it for $135,000 on 10/10/03 and that is the reason for the release against Harrietta and Corey. Because Riverside had another buyer and was going to retrieve their investment so Riverside had to get the Hughes’ name off it completely.

It was resold to the current owners on 6/29/05 for $258,900.00

For some reason, Henrietta and Corey used the 1011 address as their legal address, not the address of the home at 1013. The 1011 Hibiscus Ave. address (assigned by 911 services) is still owned by Corey Hughes and that is lot #18. Lot #19 is 1013 Hibiscus Ave.

Great catch, U NO HOO.

I think it’s considered more informal than incorrect these days. Still, three times in three consecutive sentences does leap out at you.

That’s the way most of these sub prime loans went, I’m sure. Renting, paying first and last and a deposit is more expensive than ‘buying’ for these kind of losers. They live in a nice home for as long as they want free....and now some dumb republican gives her another house to live in....wow.

Thanks. I was just getting started reading about all this. Looks like your info is more complete and more recent.

I would think she paid more than $800 in that time. I’d think she paid $800 of the principal, and probably a ton of interest.

Any idea what her supposed disability is? Is it possible this woman really is in financial distress due to a disability? Don’t jump on me for asking. I’m new to this topic, and honestly curious.

Is this for real, or a spoof? If it real, Obama’s people need to answer questions.

Henrietta had breast cancer surgery about 8 years ago. That’s her “disability.”

i’m shocked she wasnt the immediate subject of a vast media investigation like our friend joe the plumber was.

but we all know there’s no chance the media has a liberal bias so i’m probably just being silly.

“It appears that the desperate homeless woman owns real estate she shifted into the name of her son to avoid taxes and acquire government aid. Apparently, Henrietta is the teacher and Tom Daschle is just a student. Henrietta also apparently sold real estate at a significant profit in 2005. “

>>>It appears that the desperate homeless woman owns real estate she shifted into the name of her son to avoid taxes and acquire government aid. Seems like every democrat ,doesn’t pay their taxes!!!<<<

Let’s join her. I mean it. Don’t break any laws, but stop feeding the government. On the contrary, do whatever it takes to join the welfare state. Free college, free housing, free food.

There’s a name for this - the Cloward-Piven Strategy. It was proposed by Cloward and Piven (naturally) whose goal was to overwhelm the government with requests for welfare, thereby bankrupting the system, and in the chaos, socialism would emerge to save the day.

My strategy is a little more subtle.

If you are productive, slow down or stop. Don’t buy anything besides what you need to survive. Reduce your income to the point where you don’t pay taxes. If you own a business, slow down to the bare minimum. Don’t invest. Don’t buy a new car or a new home. If possible, become a willing ward of the state.

Actually, this isn’t my idea. It comes from Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged,” although the productive people aren’t going to hide out in a Colorado gulch. We’ll be hiding in plain sight. The government won’t be able to tell the difference between the lazy, the needy, and the willfully unproductive.

If the state is going to confiscate my wealth, I’ll stop producing wealth.

And there isn’t a single thing the state can do about it, either. You can’t kill an idea, and an idea has no organization, no structure, no leadership. If the productive stop producing wealth, the goverment dies the death of a thousand cuts.

The left’s internal contradiction is that it depends on confiscating the wealth of the productive to gain power. Stop producing wealth, and the left loses power.

Who is John Galt?

I don't know, but some other things I read make me think they don't have a great work ethic.

I get the impression that they think nice houses just appear, without understanding that a lot of people put in a lot of hard work to make the nice things of life happen.
