It is time for many South Floridians to get a grip. Not on their weapons, but on their senses.
First, there was the big run on guns, both locally and nationally, when it was feared the Obama administration would quickly enact tougher gun legislation that would make it difficult to own guns.
Didn't happen. And doesn't figure to happen, particularly since the Supreme Court has reinforced the right of an individual to bear arms.
But that hasn't deterred some South Floridians, who are storming gun shops for ammunition - particularly rounds for military-style assault weapons.

“Lately, Ive been spending about 4X more on ammo than on food”
With plenty of ammo you stand a much better chance of procuring food... I’m just sayin’!
Didn’t happen yet.
Sounds more like common sense to me, not hysteria.
I agree with the article. The hysteria needs to stop (more ammo for me!!!). I am almost out of 7.62x39 and have been waiting for over 3 months for my last bulk order to arrive! Of course, maybe I’m not being prudent because I am shooting my ammo instead of stockpiling it. I enjoy being proficient with my firearms.
Let’s see...a newspaper that buys ink and paper to express their 1st amendment right is attempting to lecture us about buing ONE or TWO guns and 10 pounds of ammunition...and then calls us hysterical.
Hey you leftist bassturds...STFU!
No matter how much I buy, I feel compelled to go out and buy more.
I must control this though, as I have an expensive trip coming up next month.
You can get food if you’ve got guns and ammo.
Can’t you argue that ammo is an arm, and thus protected? Arms are not defined by guns alone, but include every tool used in defense of tyranny.
Ammo is going to be the new currency in any SHTF scenario.
Oenerous taxes on ammo is no different than a poll tax.
Apply 55 grains to the nearest inflamed journalist?
10lbs of ammo. That’s less than a day’s shootin’
I’ve been waiting for a good gun thread to pose the following question:
How do FR gun enthusiasts feel about the Springfield XD 9mm 4”?
Lets see...a newspaper that buys ink in 55 gallon drums and paper by the 2-ton roll to express their 1st amendment right is attempting to lecture us about expressing our 2nd amendment right in buying ONE or TWO guns and 10 pounds of ammunition...and then calls us hysterical.
Wonder how they'd feel if we were buying guns by the case and ammo by the pallet...then we would be on par with the leftist Some-Slantin'all. Hey you leftist bass turds...STFU!
Being prepared is not hysteria ... see also Ant and grasshopper.
ROFLMAO
Ive seen ads in various magazines for this pistol but no reviews yet.
We are only a month into the 0 solution. Don’t get lulled into senselessness. Ask yourselves why liberals would care about the guns and ammo you’re buying.
Yep! I’ve been sayin that fer a while.
Are you ready for the House Bill titled ‘HR 45, Blair Holt Licensing and Record Act of 2009’. It will make it illegal to own a firearm unless it is registered with the database in Washington D.C. As a gun owner you will have to be finger printed, you will be required to provide your DL#, SS#, you must maintain a valid address at all times, submit to mental and physical health records being put on file, you will also be required to file any address changes and any ownership changes even if a private sale. Each update will cost $25 and if you fail to comply you will lose your right to own firearms. This bill and its language mirror almost completely one defeated last year in the House of Representatives by Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. Will we the citizenry be as lucky this time?

Buy till it hurts.
The prices on the stuff ain’t going down!
I have purchased several new pistols and scrounged for boxes of ammo since the first. In all the stores I go to it is the same story. Compact pistols and AR type rifles are gone along with the needed ammo. If you need a shotgun or more typical rifle they are readily available.
