On todays Meet the Press, moderator David Gregory seemed surprisingly sympathetic to Rick Santellis epic, on-air denunciation of Pres. Obamas plan that would force responsible homeowners to bail out the others. In contrast, Al Hunt played the part of the predictable liberal to perfection, dismissing Santellis soliloquy as sophomoric. Gregory aired a clip of White House press secretary Robert Gibbs contemptuous comments about Santelli, including the bit in which Gibbs holds up a copy of the presidents plan and sneeringly suggests Santelli print it off and read it.
Gregory indicated he had indeed read the planthen explained why Santelli and so many others feel the way they do . . .

He can’t be bothered to tell you what’s wrong with the argument, he’ll just imply that you’re a child if you don’t know.
point
"A contract is a contract" needs to apply to:
homeowners who wanted more than they could afford -
Banks who were greedier than they could cover...
Hedge funds who played for sinfully high returns but didn't want to accept the risk
And Madoff's greedy multilmillionairs.
NO bailouts.
NO BAILOUTS FOR ANY OF THEM.
Okay—enough with the nitpicking.
Honestly, most traders are conceited and overconfident by nature—its part of the culture. IMHO, Santelli did come of as somewhat immature and angry. But as I said: so what? He was right on the money. I AGREED with him.
Like I said, sometimes you need a rabble-rouser to get though people’s thick skulls.
FWIW, Hunt is on Bloomberg, and Gregory is on NBC/MSNBC
DAVID, not DICK. Dick was the black guy (Panther?) who then did diets?
Contracts between TWO PARTIES CAN be REWRITTEN, if both parties agree.
If both parties VOLUNTARILY agree to alter a contract, that is not issue—it happens all the time. The part I detest is when the Government forces them to do it at the expense of one party.
Al Hunt is married to the former CNN anchor Judy Woodruff, she of the perpetually sour outlook. They have one son, who no doubt will be in therapy his entire life.
Yeah, whatever his name is. The guy I’m talking about is the WHITE moderator of Meet the Press.
In fact, language allowing for an agreement to be rewritten, if both parties agree, is often included in that agreement. I see it all the time.
This protects both parties if not-to-good things happen.
Otherwise, he'd just be another biased "talking head."
If you would like me to post an example of this language, I will, but I don’t think it’s necessary.
I like your attitude!!!
Mr. Woodruff is a steaming turd.
The key is “both parties agree.” I see a government mandate forcing it on them in the name of “stimulus”; I also see then a place where contracts aren’t taken seriously because of the prospect of government mandating a rewrite in the future.
Perhaps, but that's not the full definition of the word ~ your forgetting the uninformed and immature part.
The guy was right on in every way and has the guts to tell it like it is. He needs to be applauded, not labeled with inaccurate words.
That's how the commies work, they change the meaning of words. (I'm not insinuating you're a commie)
Rick Santelli Responds to The White House Propaganda Minister-02/20/2009
Thank you!
One of the happiest days of my life was when he got the boot from WSJ. Now if they’d just stop hiring lib replacements like Thomas Frank.
