NAACP wants NY Post editor and cartoonist fired

NEW YORK – The head of the NAACP on Saturday urged readers to boycott the New York Post, calling a cartoon that the newspaper published an invitation to assassinate President Barack Obama.
Benjamin Todd Jealous, president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, called on the tabloid to remove editor-in-chief Col Allan, as well as longtime cartoonist Sean Delonas.
Earlier this week, the newspaper apologized to anyone who might have been offended by the image printed Wednesday, which some say likens Obama to a violent chimpanzee gunned down by police in Connecticut. Jealous said the cartoon was "an invitation to assassination."
On Thursday, after protests by notable figures including director Spike Lee, the paper posted an editorial on its Web site saying the cartoon was meant to mock the federal economic stimulus bill, but "to those who were offended by the image, we apologize."

I think the outrage was when they asked Bush what he thought about the dragging death verdict. He said the crime was a tragedy but that the positive side was that justice prevailed and the perpetrators got the death penalty. In actuality, two of the three got the death penalty, the third got life. They bashed Bush for not noting that the third guy didn’t get the death penalty.
On the other hand, OJ was innocent.

So let me get this straight, their organization is titled The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. However, if you call blacks Colored People they get upset! What a bunch of racist, hypocritical morons!
Hey, NAACP - if you don’t like what the NYP writes, don’t read it. You shouldn’t be a pack of hypersensitive twits parading that you don’t even understand what the cartoon is about.

Actually it had been written over many years. Some the pages were old and moldy and stained...... ancient wet dreams stuffed in the pile.
They gathered up all the crap from all over the counrtry an put it in a pile.

The pics of Bush had to be Photoshopped for him to look like a chimp.
Obama simply looks like a chimp.

The NAACP has also got to get over this stuff of imagining you can call the President of the United States an ape and the next guy down the road in the same job is going to be immune to that sort of thing.
Time for Al Sharpton and the NAACP board to go crawling through some broken glass to apologize to George W. Bush.

Obama did not write the stimulus. Lawmakers did.
I could be wrong, but it seems to me that historically, the prez of the NAACP was white. How’s that for irony? I think the current prez is white as well.
