WASHINGTON (AFP) – The United States has received a letter from the Palestinian Hamas movement for President Barack Obama, who considers the militant group a terrorist organization, a US official confirmed Friday.
"I can confirm that it was from Hamas to President Obama," a State Department official said on condition of anonymity, adding that US officials were weighing "how it should be treated."

Pure optics. Hamas didn’t need to give a letter to Kerry to get it delivered to Obama. I am sure that Obama knew it was coming and probably what was in it. This is just setting the stage for negotiations with Hamas. Obama will just say he is responding to an overture from Hamas. Hell, Obama probably asked them to send the letter as a pretext to begin negotiations.

It’s that whole “Obama” “Osama” thing...which pretty much sums up how I feel about the current resident at 1600.

So why the secrecy???
