Walter Reed, Week 200, Friday the 13th!

Walter Reed - Week 200, February 13, 2009, We dismissed any Friday the 13th vibes by focusing on Supporting the Troops, Saturday the 14th, Valentine’s Day and the beginning of President’s Day weekend.

A chilly night with a lot of supportive honking traffic. And tonight it seemed that almost every Metro bus driver honked and waved. You betcha we wave back!

Counted only five moonbats. Yes, they are still around from 7 to 9 pm (sharp). It may be too much to hope, but it seems like they have lost whatever small amount of enthusiasm they had.

Traffic tonight was fairly heavy and it’s worth reminding our supporters at the front gate to stay on the curb, be alert and watch for any suspicious activity.

The bus with its wounded warriors and their families returned by 9:30pm..

NEWS FROM THE FRONT GATE

MOAB Slogan Contest – Cut Off date - March 13th ! Our current MOAB has been in use for some time and is starting to show a lot of wear and tear.

It’s now time for a new one.

We could put the current slogan on the new one but we'd rather leave it to you to come up with a new phrase. The troops, their families, and the workers at Walter Reed have seen the existing one for some time.

Let's change things.

Keep just keep in mind that it must fit on the banner and that it should be pro-troop, that is, something that will inspire and encourage the troops, their families, and the workers at Walter Reed.

We would like to unveil the new saying on our 4th Anniversary, which would be Week 208 or April 3. We will announce the winner on that AAR thread.

The cutoff for suggestions will be March 13th. The highly experienced veteran contest judges include your Walter Reed AAR writers: BufordP, Kburi, Jimmy Valentines Brother, and Tom the Redhunter

The grand prize will be ... bragging rights!

HONOR ROLL

Securing the four front gate corners were: Trooprally, Cindy_True_Supporter, Lurker Bill, Rongkirby, Kburi, TomtheRedhunter , Second Class Citizen, JoyJoy from NJ and Jimmy Valentines Brother.

We are always looking for troop supporters to stop by and visit. Parking is free right across from Walter Reed’s front gate.

If you can't get to D.C. to join us but would like to do something for the wounded, you can find a wealth of ideas by FReepmailing Tom the Redhunter, Cindy-True-Supporter, VAFlagwaver, or PleaDeal.

A Big Thank You to all FReepers who transport and store our many signs and banners every week.

Come join us every Friday night between the hours of 6:30pm to approx 9:30pm.

* Thank you to BufordP for maintaining the BIG LIST of all Walter Reed FReeps

Thanks for the AAR. You took some real good night pics.

I thought the weather was getting warmer but you couldn’t prove it last night.

2ndClassCitizen made it out last night, missed you.
