“panel suggested in December the state start charging motorists a quarter-cent for every mile as a substitute for the gas tax”

B.S.

The average car travels about 15,000 miles a year I believe. A quarter-cent per mile is only $37.50 a year. They have to be collecting far more than that via the gas tax per year per car. Substitute, my you know what...

Our masters keep pushing and pushing... Ever more intrusive, ever more demanding...

When does the revolution start?

They would most likely add the quarter-cent/mile ON TOP of state and federal fuel taxes.

$37.50 X 150 or so million vehicles adds up to a nice chunk of change....

This is a misprint, what he meant to say was that the state start charging a QUARTER for every mile. (I wish this were sarcasm)

You can bet your mother-in-law’s underwear that the tax per gallon will/would not be eliminated.

But what would be the cost to implement such a system? Greater than a thousand dollars per vehicle I would imagine. And who would pay? Ultimately the consumer, in the form of higher taxes and higher vehicle cost in addition to the new mileage tax.

Malice or stupidity? Or both?

There will be not revolution. We will be let to the slow motion slaughter just like sheep. All for the betterment of society. All for the betterment of the government. All for the safety of your fellow men. All for you children.

Now, for all those over 50, follow the green line. At station #1 take your clothes off. At station #2 be sure to breath deeply while taking shower so as to dis-infect nasal passages.

lots of /SS’s

I’d like to see a politician tax. A quarter cent for every word – written or spoken.
