BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan Kyrgyzstan's president signed a bill Friday to close a key U.S. air base used to stage military operations in Afghanistan, the final step before authorities issue a 180-day eviction order.
Kurmanbek Bakiyev's signing of the legislation which Washington suspects Russia of backing will lead to the United States being given 180 days to vacate the Manas air base, a transit point for 15,000 troops and 500 tons of cargo each month to and from Afghanistan.

I sure am glad that Obama is restoring all those alliances that Bush ruined!
< /sarcasm>
That was the point I was going to make.
It’s going to be quite interesting to watch Obama’s and the Democrat party’s premises shown to be false over the next four years.
These folks don’t have a clue.
No, they don’t. I just hope we don’t have to pay for their stupidity.
What fools like Obama/Jimmy Carter/&Co. don’t realize is foreign alliances are built off of mutual interests as well as fear that the potential ally could become an enemy if they’re not a friend. This isn’t some sit in a circle, smoke pot, and sing Kumbaya exercise. This is the big leagues.
Well with that 700+, 900+, moving target Porkulus I passed, I’d say we’re going to pay. I’m sure you meant you hope we don’t have to pay by another massive attack on our soil or some such. I join you in that thought.
I agree. One of my concerns right now, is how Eastern European nations we promised a nuclear shield to, are going to feel about Obama trading away their safety for empty promises from Iran and Russia.
If I were those nations, I would be dialing Kremlin information to eat some humble pie. Presidents like Obama, do serious damage to the trust our allies have in us.
Anyone who trusts the US is a maroon.
It was a wise thing for them to do.
They know that the Obamamessiah will leave them hanging and they are stuck between a rock and a hard place. They are faced with nutjob Islamofascists to their south and do not have the means to truly protect themselves so it is better to be on good terms with Russia then not. They saw what happened to Georgia and how the Obamamessiah reacted to that-with fumbling stupidity and the ever popular Liberal Loon “Let the UN deal with it”.
A diplomat last summer predicted that if the Obamamessiah was elected that within six months the world would wish for the “good old days of George W. Bush”. He was right.
Well, that better change. Even the most powerful nation on the block, needs a place to park it’s bus on the goodwill tour.
Very nice. Yep, that’s about it.
Big trouble coming soon! Disrespect and mockery will be followed by attacks on the weakened U.S.
When we are attacked, Obama will issue a prompt apology.
The American voters have really called down the thunder and we are going to have our asses handed to us....BIG TIME!
Too true, too true..........
Ha, Russia wants in on Afghanistan to squeeze America yet allied with Iran and backing a base closure in Kyrgyzstan ... I AM glad we have a rookie in the White House to talk it out with them...all of them.
