Democrats have thumped the Republicans in two consecutive elections, but they are taking nothing for granted. Maybe they are expecting Republicans to change their ways and start acting like fiscal conservatives again. That could explain the Democrats' multi-pronged attempt to stack the electoral deck in their favor, an approach that includes President Obama's decision to politicize the Census Bureau by placing the Bureau under the direct control of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel instead of the Secretary of Commerce.
If all goes as planned, the Democrats will be holding at least three aces in their hand by the time 2012 rolls around. The first ace is card check, an anti-democratic process that bypasses secret ballot elections when employees are deciding whether to unionize or not. While unions' share of the workforce has increased recently, labor union membership has declined dramatically in the past twenty-five years from 20.1% of the workforce to 12.4%. Most of this decline has occurred among private sector workers. Democrats want to recoup their losses of the past several years and make it easier for their Big Labor bosses to unionize more companies. After all, more unionization means more union money and organized support for Democratic candidates. Card check bypasses all the inconveniences of democracy and secret ballots by allowing union hacks to intimidate and pressure workers to sign cards. Once a majority of workers has signed on, the shop is unionized.

The census bureau issues estimates and other relevant data that can be used to legitimize cheating in the 2010 elections by blowing up the population versus registered voters. As a rulewe don’t count people here illegally for example. They can play with the numbers even earlier. Also controlling it now will be allow them through cronyism to stack the bureaucrats so the bureau does what they want it to. Hugo Chavez would be proud.
bump for later read
All revolutions are started by people not only willing to die, but also willing to kill. The lefties talk a good game but don’t have the balls to confront the right on the streets. Lenin’s bolshevik’s accounted for a mere 11% of Russians, but they had no qualms about shooting you. Hitler’s nazis garnered a mere 32% of the german vote. Minorities willing to brake heads have always held sway. In my native argentina a mere force of 45,000 troops controlled a nation of 30 million. Just put two or three against the wall and the rest will follow.
That’s why we have to take back the states, and if necessary (disolve the Federal Government) by dicate of the states declaring their sovereignty (hence loyalty toward the CONSTITUTION) over loyalty toward the Federal Bureacracy!
Hmm, I prefer the United States to be whole and conservative. But if that can’t happen, that’s actually not a bad idea. The conservative states can form an alliance to fight the crazy Muslims. And the liberal states can form an alliance to fight global warming. Of course, the conservative states would have a nice immigration policy that would let conservatives from liberal states immigrate there, right? :)
Right—the 2010 election districts are still based on the 2000 census because it takes time to compile the data. The 2000 election had electoral college quotas based on the 1990 census, or Bush would have won a few more electoral votes.
Can't speak to paranoia (they could be after you even if you are paranoid *\;-), but they are after your guns and have been for a long time. Started, I believe, with the Gun Control Act of 1968. (Not sure about machine-guns though...) I think until GCA 1968 even ex-felons with their rights restored could own guns.
When they came for the ex-felons' guns I said nothing, because I was not an ex-felonAny time you let a right be taken away from someone else without due process of law, you are giving up one of your own rights. Not many FReepers, not to mention other Americans, understand this concept.
When they came for those accused of D.V. I said nothing, because I was not accused of D.V.
...
And won't, until it's too late.
Might as well turn in your guns now and at least get the cash back. Later they're just going to take them from you, and having them "registered" will be no protection from the law.
If they're not careful, somebody's going to kick over the table.
Definitely though I am hoping that it doesn’t come to that, that all states raise up and just shut down the current corrupt overreaching Federal Gov, and Re Constitute it with the Original Constitution (minus some minor parts like slavery); and without all the “Progressive” 20thC Amendments..!
I agree, though I might substitute Cuba (or perhaps Haiti)for California.
I've long believed that once those bastards got control of the federal government, their first priority will be to make sure that they are never out of power again. The feckless Republicans never seemed to catch on to the fact that they were trying to fight the Waffen SS using Marquis Du Queensbury rules, and our "watchdog" press was too busy slipping into their new role as "Ministry of Truth" to take notice.
I cannot believe that “card check”, which is no more than legalized thuggery, will be allowed to stand. If it is allowed to stand in the private sector, can it be long before union thugs and the Zero’s brown shirts accost you in front of the grocery store and “encourage” you to sign a card saying that you are in favor of the ‘Rats and just do away with elections?
I expect them to keep nearly all our military members and their families stationed outside of CONUS in many brushfire wars and police actions AND then to make sure those military members can't vote or their ballots are not counted.
The 2010 census will be used to reapportion the Congressional Districts in 2011 before the elections in 2012.
