MERTZON, Texas (AP) Millions of wild pigs weighing up to 300 pounds have been tearing up crops, trampling fences and eating just about anything in their path in Texas. But now they had better watch their hairy backs.
A state lawmaker is proposing to allow ordinary Texans with rifles and shotguns to shoot the voracious, tusked animals from helicopters.

Didn’t know that about the wolves. I figured they were just overgrown coyotes.
I tell you what, come to CA if you want to hunt pigs. We are over run with them on the coast. We used to be able to kill one a day, still can actually, in most areas. On second thought, stay out of this state, you may regret coming here!
Wild Hogs?
My cousin in Texas keeps inviting me for a pig hunt. They’re thick as rats in his area.

Capture the pigs and drop them off in Iran.
This girl reminds me of 1961, I was stationed in Germany with the 3rd Armor div, 13th cavalry regiment, running M48A1s. We got our hands on a book that showed Israeli women in their armed forces manning outposts with the men. These were some of the most beautiful women I had ever seen and I thought “ I am definitely in the wrong Army!”. Can you imagine(you men out there) serving with this woman and not having the hots for her? I can’t!
What the he** is a hoon?
Heck, I thought in Texas they let guys in helicopters shoot at each other.
Is this being set up as hunting or as noxious animal reduction? If the point is that the State wants as many of these animals killed as possible and the shooter’s harvest of the meat is a secondary issue then I have no problem with this.
You're thinking of the Confederate Airforce.
The Texas Parks & Wildlife has been controlling (shooting) from helicopters for years...('yotes for decades).
Ranchers form co-ops and hire out aerial shooting.
This will surely help our tottering nation.
Sarah Palin considering moving to Texas?
> What the he** is a hoon?
That’s actually a deeper philosophical question than you might realize. I have had to think long and hard about it.
“Hoon” is a term used in the South Pacific, mostly in Australia and New Zealand, and it does not readily translate into anything in American. You do have hoons, tho’: “Jackass” is a pretty close approximation.
None of the definitions on Google are correct.
A hoon is a foolish show-off, usually immature and almost always in control of a fast vehicle or contraption, driving it irresponsibly while doing stupid things at the same time — like shooting guns for example, or letting off Roman candles out the window. They are always a danger to themselves and usually a danger to the public at large.
The Dukes of Hazzard were hoons, almost.
It is not at all uncommon for Hoons to achieve the pinnacle of accomplishment in their particular field of expertise; The Darwin Award.

I took from the article and headline that it was “hunters”.
No real hunter would ever disgrace a wild animal by shooting at it from a helicopter. Certainly not an animal as worthy as a wild boar.
The only correct way to hunt wild boar is with pig dogs and a Bowie knife, with a partner with a shotgun/rifle handy just in case things get out-of-hand.
