Yeah, what are the addresses of those detention centers?
I personally know of three: Fort Chaffee, AR is the first. Krome Detention Center along Krome Ave in Miami is another and Homestead Air Reserve Base in Homestead, FL is the third that I actually remember from the 1987 article in the Miami Herald that discussed the locations and purposes for these newly funded (in 1987) centers. The City of Homestead initially put up a HOWL of protest but that quickly died away with some liberal applications of pork. Those based at military posts are supposed to be able to handle 200,000 individuals each. That figure might be attainable at Homestead Air Reserve Base but only if all flight ops shut down and they put the tent city up across the entirety of the field. But it certainly is possible. I remember, too, one of the stated "uses" was to handle another mass cuban influx like the Mariel Boatlift.
You spoke from sarcasm, I spoke from knowledge. The detention centers exist. Ignore them and you might find yourself and your family occupying one.
What about those huge hurricane evacuations centers proposed for around the country, 6 of them I think.
There’s one at Camp Crowder, MO, apparently. And I hear the one in Mexia, TX, that was used during WWII is still being maintained, although not used. I’ve heard of scores more, and saw a couple videos of what looked like camps on YouTube.
