Just goes to show you that you can't build the economy from the bottom up. If zero doesn't throw out any incentives for investors everyone goes bust -- 401ks, pensions, you name it.

I don’t know how much of the current situation can be ascribed to conspiracy and how much to simply taking advantage of a crisis. I suspect elements of both. Still, the process you describe, while plausible, probably can’t be instituted very quickly. There is too much private property and respect for private property, plus a Supreme Court that is still sane until the sane ones die off and are replaced by those more willing to suspend the Constitution. The downward trend is there but I think we are far from the bottom.

I doubt it. They got such a kick out of it the put the clip on their website. The only thing I like about NBC is CNBC. They bash Zero regularly. This one is classic though.

Drudge is one very senstationalist silly person. He put it in bold red and used the siren for this? All CNBC tv personalities act like this, what is new or “breaking” about it?
It was a reporter having fun and some of the traders having fun with him, what the hell am I missing. Was there a recent poll showing a majority of Americans wanting a revolt? Was there major coupe in the works in Washington? Why the sensationalism?
Because according to Gallup, since the stimulus bill:
Democrats in congress approval is up 25 points to 43%

No real threat of a tea part in those numbers.
Not saying I like this but I justed wanted to inject some reality in the minds of people like Drudge who are easily moved by a single emotional outburst by tv personalities that make their livings by being both informative and entertaining.

FR itself can only whisper, but Drudge has big lungs and a global megaphone!
