STAMFORD, Connecticut Doctors say a Connecticut woman mauled by a 200-pound chimpanzee is making slight progress after more than seven hours of surgery by four teams of surgeons.
Dr. Kevin Miller of Stamford Hospital says 55-year-old Charla Nash suffered extensive facial and hand injuries when she was attacked Monday. He says stabilizing her condition took more than seven hours of surgery.

I read last night they would have a glass of wine then go to bed and cuddle
O’Reilly had a woman from PETA on his show last night. I expected a nutcase but she also mentioned how these primates are taken away from their mothers at a young age and mistreated in order to get them to perform. For once I had to agree with PETA.
“I wonder if she still has eyes.”
Both eyes, nose, and jaw lost to the animal, from what I read elsewhere.
A chimp is like a 190 pound pitbull that can open doors.
“She failed to get him his beer.”
...and he went apesh*t...
Sorry.
She probably can be charged with reckless endangerment like the owner of Lewis the Crazy Cat (who was from that same state) as well as owners of unleashed dogs who attack people.
I'm rather curious whether they located her face and tried to re-attach it, and if not, why not.
I would have preferred a guest from a mainstream animal welfare organization (such as the ASPCA or the Humane Society) instead of PETA, but the woman who appeared on O’Reilly was right on this one.
I do not intend to be humorous about this, but your post gave me the visual that she had a “snap-on” face.
Whatever parts of this woman's face were ripped off by the chimp, I would think it would be more desirable to attempt re-attachment if possible, than to start from scratch. The articles I have read didn't say anything about this.
So, he blinded her.
Poor woman.
Seems to me like she had a weird lover/surrogate/incestuous type thing going on with the chimp. She bathed with it, dined with it, slept cuddled in bed with the animal. It’s not farfetched, there are people who are into “animal love”, zoophilia.
I saw a picture, on the news, of this lady and the monkey kissing each other on the lips ... I could not help but wonder ...
So you're thinking there was some monkey business going on? (Sorry, couldn't resist)
I thought he preferred wine.
I believe the chimp ate her face.
I read somewhere that Travis also ate her hands. That poor woman. If that happened to me, I’d rather die from it than go through what she is experiencing now and in the future.
DISPATCHER: Is the monkey still by your friend, or can you get close to your friend?
HEROLD: Yes, he's eating her! He eating her.
DISPATCHER: He's eating her?
HEROLD: Please, God, oh please!
DISPATCHER: Okay i need you to calm down for me. I know it hard, OK? I know its hard, but they're going as fast as they can your way, OK?
HEROLD: Oh my god please...inaudible...oh my god where are they? Where are they?
DISPATCHER: I know, I know. It's okay, they're going your way, OK? They're going out as fast as they can. They'll be there momentarily.
HEROLD: Oh my, he's ripping her apart. Please hurry! Please god oh please. PLease have them come faster, please! Please, they got to have their guns out. PLease have them please! Please...inaudible...hurry. Help me! Listen to me, listen, where are they?
Yes... vicious little bastards aren't they?
Liberals are constantly trying to extrapolate animal behavior onto human characteristics, but when it comes to the filthy Muslim treatment of women, they run and hide...
I totally agree. Same thing with major burns - in the face of that, I would prefer to just sink into a coma and then die. For we all have to go some day.
Prayers for this lady and her family. May she either recover, or else peacefully pass into a better world.
