OKC officer pulls man over for anti-Obama sign on vehicle

An Oklahoma City police officer wrongly pulled over a man last week and confiscated an anti-President Barack Obama sign the man had on his vehicle.

The officer misinterpreted the sign as threatening, said Capt. Steve McCool, of the Oklahoma City Police Department, and took the sign, which read "Abort Obama, not the unborn."

Chip Harrison said he was driving to work when a police car followed him for several miles and then signaled for him to pull over.

''I pulled over, knowing I hadn't done anything wrong," Harrison said in a recent phone interview.

When the officer asked Harrison if he knew why he had been pulled over, Harrison said he did not.

It would have been better had the ss visited the offending officer and searched his home instead. Just to make sure he didn't have any one imprisoned.

Well, at least the police officer confirmed that the left do actually agree that abortion is murder.

And the fact that no one in the mainstream media caught this obvious and absolutely dam*ing point is further evidence that the left is intellectually and spirtually bankrupt.

If aborting an unborn child is no more intrusive than having a tooth pulled or a wart removed, then what on earth could have been wrong with this sign?

This is so wrong on so many different levels.

Number 1 : The offer should be reprimanded and made to take a class on the 1st Amendment.

2. The supervisor in the video, is a liar. He acts as if it were a big mistake that was corrected. (However, they called the Secret Service to report the driver!!!!)

2. The Secret Service should have been denied entry out of principle. They should have been forced to get a warrant if they were going to follow up on something that stupid.

Funny story....

Many years ago, in SoCal...I had a great Shepard/Huskie mix dog, but she had a bad habit of making 30' garden hoses, 25', then 20', then 15'...!! Ha!!

One evening I caught her gnawing the end off...the hose. Grabbed her by the nape of the neck...and beat the end of the hose on the bricked patio..hard. All the while yelling "NO"!! Well she was yelping, like I was killing her...but I wasn't hitting her at all. While I was doing this I heard this gasp...from my next door neighbor's daughter..who was probably in her mid 20's.

A few days later...the local dog catcher guy stops by my house. Asks me about the "incident"...and wants to hear my story, and see the dog. Of course I tell him the story....and he checks out the dog..and the hose..and all is good with him. In fact he apologized for having to bother me..but he had to check it out.

About 4 or 5 months later...I was in the backyard at night...and this girl was screaming at her little kid...( who sounded sick )....to shut up!! I wanted to call DHS, pretty bad for revenge......but I knew the crap storm that I could cause for her...and didn't do it. I knew this girl was a decent parent...and just lost it for a few minutes.

Anyway...your post reminded me of that whole deal.

I am. It would be impossible to check out all reported threats to the president. They have to be credible. If the SS agents were told what was on the sign, how could they decide it was credible given the context? I don't buy the "just following orders" nonsense. A quick police and lookout check would have been more than enough. We are talking about interpreting a sign publicly displayed in a car.

Like I said, I'm not waiting on anything to happen. I'd be worried, though, if there was a *real* threat reported by OKC PD...How much credence do you think that they have, now?

OK PCD credence is not the issue. How did this complaint ever make it to the SS and why did the SS invest the time and effort to actually go to the guy's home and have a walk-thru? I have some very real questions about police and SS policy and procedures. Ruby Ridge, Waco, Elian Gonzales, the release of personal data on Linda Tripp, etc. are cases where civil liberties are violated and the USG goes amok. I am not about to give anyone a pass, and I say that as someone who worked for the USG for 36 years.

What kind of idiot would make the following statement and expect that anybody at all would find it credible in the least?:

McCool said the sign basically meant Obama should be impeached and it was not a threat.

If the police officer was stupid enough to believe that abort meant impeachment, then the police officer needs to be fired immediately for being an idiot.

Whoever made up the excuse for the police officer should also be fired for coming up with the excuse and for believing that the people out here are so stupid as to believe the idiotic excuse.

Since the excuse won't fly, the only explanation possible for the arrest is that the police officer was irritated that someone would carry a sign saying anything negative about someone that he, the police officer, worships. Obama worshiping should be the crime in this whole incident, and for that alone, the officer should be fired. And anybody in authority that defends or makes excuses for the worshipers should also be fired.

OK is always going to be O.K. by me. I saw this coming back in '85 when the PRCA decided to turn the super bowl into a circus and moved the NFR to Vegas. lol

This officer just needs to spend a little less time singing along with "You're the Reason God Made Oklahoma," and whole lot more time defending the Rights of those Proud individuals who"still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse . . . and like living life and being free." ;)

I would've loved to see that! There's another one I saw just before the election that said something like: "Vote for me, I have as much experience as Obama". I was behind somebody at an intersection, turning left when I saw it. I wanted so much to honk and wave to the person in the vehicle, but they were turning and heading away at that point!
