The next shoe has dropped at General Motors and it has landed squarely on performance-car enthusiasts. Just when things were getting really tasty, GM has disbanded the High Performance Vehicle Operations unit of the company's Performance Division.

GM finally makes cars that are finally the equal or better than the rest of the world and they kill the program. Sometimes the image gained from these kind of cars is worth more than the profit they directly generate.
I also don't doubt that they killed the least enviro friendly cars to placate Dear Leader.

This basically kills future development of the ZR1, CTS-V and all SS models.

Does this mean the end of the Corvette? Actually, they get pretty good gas mileage.

I bought a 2005 C6 Vette new. Flawless fit and finish, no rattles, and it’s had no problems whatasoever. And...the worst mileage I got was 19 in town, with the overall average being in the low 20s. 29+ on the highway.
Now, that’s what those clowns should have been doing for years. Too bad the MBAs allowed them to build the other GM trash that’s on the road.

The socialists will tell you what you're allowed to drive now:
I will just buy foreign performance cars from now on, I guess.

GM will not survive as a private company if it does not build cars that sell. That should be obvious to the central planners in Washington as well as GM execs.
