New York Times’ Share Price Less Than Sunday Newspaper Price
Crossing Wall Street ^ | February 17, 2009 | edelfenbein

Check out this very ugly chart:

Shares of NYT (NYT) dropped 29 cents today to close at $3.77. The Sunday paper goes for $4 at the newsstand.

Maybe they could save costs by printing the paper on their stock certificates.

I for one am waiting for the stock price to fall into single digits so I can use it instead of Charmin to blow my nose or wipe my behind.

Why don’t the Democrats support their favorite mouthpiece? They can use the money they save from not paying taxes.

"Maybe they could save costs by printing the paper on their stock certificates."

Toilet paper would be more fitting.

Buy one share. You can’t find a cheaper NYC souvenir.

It would be worth more if they could make it more absorbent.

Being as increased taxes always help in times of recession and economic downturn, now is the perfect time to impose a one dollar per copy tax on print newspapers.

Starting with the Times as a trial run, a baseline of the speed of recovery garnered from taxing the rich newspaper readers can be established, then we just increase taxes until we get maximum recovery.

“Maybe they could save costs by printing the paper on their stock certificates.”

Then no one would buy it. Their stock certificates are not big enought to cover the bottom of a bird cage, or to wrap fish.

Thanks for the ping and the good news.

Of course more left wing mutual managers will be buying NYT to keep their sinking old gray whore afloat.
