Awwww! Here, have some sherry and caviar....it’ll make you feel better. I’ll call Fraser in the morning and make an appointment for you. :)

I believe actors are paid residuals for the first nine times a TV show or movie is aired in re-runs/syndication, and the checks decrease with each showing.

But the real money is not in residuals, but in being a profit participant. Mr. Grammer, like most TV stars, was also a producer of his show. Not only did that increase his weekly paycheck, it also put him in line for the big money that comes with selling the program into syndication. I’m guessing that Grammer’s share from Frasier was in the eight-figure range.

Another path to entertainment riches is getting in on the ground floor of a successful show, before being forced out a few years into the run. If you watch the credits on “The Simpsons,” you’ll see Sam Simon listed as an executive consultant. In other words, he left the show as an executive producer in 1993, but he still gets a piece of the broadcasting and merchandising rights, giving him an annual payday of $10 million.

Only in Hollywood. And yes, kudos to Mr. Grammer for having the guts to say something that most GOP politicians wouldn’t dream of uttering.

Evil-doers?

Well, it does make him sound a bit like Cotton Mather.

Sam Simon is a good guy for helping dogs though I doubt he is a conservative. Kelsey is a conservative and he does have a lot of guts.

Frasier ran for 11 seasons and Kelsey portrayed Frasier for 9 years on Cheers before the Frasier spin-off.

His father was murdered outside a bar, and his sister was kidnapped, raped, and murdered. He’s had quite a lot of tragedy in his life including an addiction to alcohol.

He’s one of my favorite actors of all time.

Sounds like he’s discovered MrB’s #1 undeniable truth of liberalism:

Liberalism is simply using force to make the responsible pay for the consequences of others’ irresponsible behavior choices.

I've felt bad for many years thinking that my husband and I have been behind the 8 ball when it comes to finances.....

nothing has come easy.....we don't buy the fancy clothes at the mall stores, we drive our vehicles up to close to 200,000 miles, we don't eat out at the fancy places, we don't go to the movies or do drugs or drink heavily and we have never been to Europe or Hawaii and we also thought it was OUR fault...

but we have some in retirement and we always pay our bills and helped our kids with college...

turns out, we were just the dumb arces that are going to foot the bill for all the lazy creeps who bought everything on credit or Heloc or thru lies.....they have the new boats, and the new Ram trucks and they have the ATVs and the ski "machines".....

we've been had....

should I go claim dissability and quit work?....stop paying our bills?....go buy that new atv that I want and the new fishing boat?....

why not....hard work and saving means nothing in America...NOTHING!

He's been a conservative for some time now.

A quick glance at his personal life since the mid 90s or so hardly reads like a conservative. 3 marriages, a rape allegation, a sex tape scandal, a defamation of character lawsuit and a copyright lawsuit.

Does that not sound a bit more like a dem? At least according to popular freeper wisdom?

Just goes to show you...people who have endured REAL tragedy and traumas that have effected their life...and who have overcome them as he has, are wise beyond belief. They don't sit and whine like cry-baby liberals. They don't expect government handouts. Grammar took charge of his life and did something with it. He knows the benefit of hard work and dedication and the rewards are his to reap.

"Cheers!" Kelsey for your honest and sensible words that so many other cowardly Republicans are afraid to speak.

<his acting cache is about dried up.

I’ve enjoyed him as George Washington and really wish he would play Bob Hope. I think he’d be great in that. I don’t think he’s dried up, but the roles will probably more like ‘elder statesman,’ ‘corporate evildoer’ character roles. I could see him doing work similar to that of Fred Thompson.

Agreed.

Someone who believes in limited government, supports the Constitution, is against the waste and fraud of Obama’s stimulus garbage, yet lives the life Grammer has is no conservative.

He’s probably more a Libertarion.
