Rove Responds to Axelrod
Karl Rove, a former senior adviser to President George W. Bush, insisted in an interview with "Today" show host Matt Lauer this morning that he had every right to offer his analysis of the economic strategy adopted by the Obama Administration -- a response to critical comments made by Obama senior adviser David Axelrod in an interview with the Post last week.
"I am not giving him advice, I am commenting on what they are doing," Rove told Lauer. "And I'm sure even this White House would say people have the right to offer an opinion."
Heyooo!
Rove went on to argue that it was Democrats -- particularly former President Bill Clinton -- who were largely responsible for the current economic mess due to their lax regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac; Rove called the failure of those two entities the "biggest accelerant" in driving the economic collapse and made a point to note that Obama failed to side with the Bush Administration's attempt to tighten regulations on Fannie and Freddie earlier this decade.
Rove's comments came just days after Axelrod, in an interview with the Post's Lois Romano, told a group of senior advisers that their criticisms of the new Administration were off base.
"The last thing that I think we are looking for at this juncture is advice on fiscal integrity or ethics from Karl Rove -- anyone who's read the newspapers for the last eight years would laugh at that," said Axelrod.

Why did you ping me my own quote?
I thought your astute comment bore repeating. In bold.
Thanks.
Why does Obama surround himself with such creepy people?
Cause they do what he wants, the way he wants.
Still nothing is carved in stone that they must remain effective. Karma Police don’t play.

Throw in Barney Frank (head of finance committee that would NOT stop the sub-prime loan fiasco when urged to do so by conservatives for years.)

Newspapers? LOL well yea, controlled by the liberals to keep the truth from getting out.
Thanks, Karl Rove for your comments.
(Q) Why does Obama surround himself with such creepy people?Present Obama has no choice.(A) Cause they do what he wants, the way he wants.
Still nothing is carved in stone that they must remain effective. Karma Police dont play.
He owes his handlers big time.
He has no control over who surrounds him.
He is a complete tool.
Clintons and Clinton people are in charge. Following the Saul Alinsky model. To a "T."
Rahm Emmanuel proved that by going totally against Obama's request to not crack his knuckles so loud, and Rahm went right over to B. Hussein and cracked a big one in his ear.
Total insubordination by Obama's "appointee" and taken like a poofter by our Illustrious Emperor The One.
B. O. is completely and totally pwned.
Amen to that....Its not easy trying to defend a man that won’t defend himself...All the “new tone” talk was BS
I think you are right and add Stephy, Serpenthead, and the Forehead to that list. Soros had them in for meetings with his "Masters of the World" crowd. I don't think they were talking about the Cubs.
How is that Rove's fault, and not Bush's?
all well and good, but what did Bush and company do to rein in derivatives trading? Nothing. They had the power and did nothing.
Both parties are owned by bankers and lobbyists and other short-term-returns men.
Dubya installed Chris Cox as chairman of the SEC. The buck stops with Dubya.
“How is that Rove’s fault, and not Bush’s? “
Rove, is that you?
Last time I checked, Bush was president, not Rove.
Bush was Rove’s boss, he could have told Rove to implement an effective public relations campaign to counter the Rat propaganda, but he didn’t. Bush had the bully pulpit, and he just let it gather dust.
Now, explain to me again how this was Rove’s fault?
I don’t bother with people like you usually. Your “eastern” arrogance is a bit much, as if I owe you an explanation just because you feel a little combative over a simple comment.
Someone is supposed to tell the emporer that he has no clothes on. If the emporer persists in not believing this person, then a protest of sorts needs to happen. If the problem still persists, then the advisor is supposed to resign out of moral obligation. Even the Rat McClellan had no info regarding any conflict between Bush’s protectors; therefore, it did not exist.
The only reason Rove was not “chief of staff”, was because Bush knew he would never fire him, since a true chief of staff has to be the fall guy. In other words, Rove was essentially the only person with permanant standing to advise Bush. Not even Dick C. had that ability.
So my friend, it was Rove’s obligation to do something, and he didn’t. The very fact that Bush was his boss, is the sole reason he should not have just collected a paycheck.
Had not heard this knuckle cracking story previously, but it goes right with my suspicions about why there are so many of the klintoon mafia in the nobama admin. I figured that back in the Primaries, hitlery realized that she could beat nobama for the nomination, but in the general election the general black voter base would not vote for her because she denied them “their chance”. I do not doubt that hitlery has some diabolical plot to move on up to Prez, but at SOS (more or less Prime Minister) and with the klintoon mafia firmly entrenched, she may be in a more powerful position. Klintoons are more pragmatic about actual power and the unfettered ability to access the Treasury than be concerned with whose name is on the desk.
In a way this is better than socialist nobama actually running the show, as for the most part the damn klintoons are mostly grifters and the $1Tril money toss fits right into their MO. Who knows how many Billions they find a way to slip off with.
In another way klintoons will have no problem assuruing we have no way to prevent or go after them, i.e. gun control and subverting the Constitution.
Either way none of this bodes well for America.
I questioned your original statement, and rather than answering my question or supporting your position, you replied with an insult.
I asked the question again and you replied with another insult but at least you gave me an answer. I guess that’s progress.
Thank God we have superior minds like you to chart the “progress” of all us simpletons out here. I have a feeling that “fresh wind” is a self-reflective nickname for when you speak.
A pox on both party’s house. Pitchforks and torches for all of them.
Who was Barney Franks gay lover at Freddie Mac?
Ask that question any time Barney speaks.
Pretty much straight up. I just wish he'd back off from the Crazy Weather Machine.
