California river conditions could starve killer whales (dams, salmon & the food chain interruptus)

Federal wildlife officials have concluded that killer whales are threatened by California's massive network of dams and water diversions, a development that could bring a massive shift in public opinion about the state's water issues.

Though the iconic orca never ventures into freshwater, its primary food source does. Salmon species in the Central Valley are in bad shape, in large part due to the damming and diversion of their habitat on numerous rivers in California's interior. Their decline threatens to starve the dwindling southern resident population of killer whale, which numbers less than 90 animals.

As a result, the National Marine Fisheries Service has concluded that California water operations may jeopardize this killer whale population. The decision is contained in a draft biological opinion being prepared on Central Valley salmon and sturgeon species in response to a court order. It has not yet been publicly released, but is due to be presented in federal court by March 2.

The charismatic orca has its home waters in Puget Sound but ranges from Alaska to Monterey. However, in recent years it has been seen more often in California waters.

"California river conditions could starve killer whales (dams, salmon & the food chain interruptus)"

Further proof that we need to round up all of the killer whales, capture them all and put them in aquariums.

It's for their own good.

I got a better idea.

Let's round up all the news reporters and send them to camps where they can be "re-educated."

If Pol Pot could, why couldn't we?

Trying very hard to be sarcastic.....very hard.....ughhh....

Yeah, we could do that or.....

How bout after we round up the all killer whales and put them in aquariums we could round up all of the reporters and feed them to the whales! That way It'll help both the whales and California at the same time!

Two birds with one stone so to speak.

Wouldn’t that be cruelty to the Orcas? Your typical reporter probably tastes like the feces they’re normally full of.

There is only one answer: All rivers draining into the Pacific Ocean must be restored to their pre-Columbian state as near as that can be discovered.

The California Intercostal Water Authority has devised what is calls The California Rivers of Free Water Program and Marine Life Preservation Act to accomplish this very necessary task.

A period of public comment will be announced soon on this satirical news.

Since this would ipso facto require California to be depopulated except for Park Rangers, I have a question ... who will take the populace of San Francisco and Berkley [remember what school of 'higher education' exists in Berkley]? Do I have a volunteer to manage the lost children of Hollyweird?

Plans are already under way to move the citizens to Phoenix and send the illegal aliens home.

A study shows the entire Colorado river would have to be diverted through the satirical plan to Phoenix to provide water and Sheriff Joe has lots of extra tents for temporary shelter under the Share a Thug’s Bugs Program.

Simple solution: simultaneously blow Shasta, Keswick, and the American/Feather River dams, among others, flushing the Barf Area out to sea, incidentally picking up Sacredmental along the way.
