Palin's teen daughter wishes pregnancy came later

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Bristol Palin loves motherhood, but the teenage daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she's not getting much sleep these days.

Bristol Palin says in a two-part interview on Fox News Channel's "On the Record" that she wishes her pregnancy had "happened in, like, 10 years so I could have a job and an education and be, like, prepared and have my own house and stuff."

Palin goes on to say that son Tripp, born Dec. 27, brings her so much joy, she doesn't regret having him at all. She's engaged to the baby's father, Levi Johnston.

The governor also made an appearance in the interview, which took place Sunday in Fairbanks.

Part one of the interview aired Monday night and the second part was scheduled to air Tuesday night.

Democrats DO get favourable coverage from the media, which is why it is especially important that conservative candidates not serve up fat pitches for the media to hit out of the park with their editing.

Now let’s see, you could acknowledge that she did make a mistake, or you could insult me. Ah, yes, more insult, excellent.

That’s a great way to build support for your candidate...

No one knows what is going on in this family and its not really any ones bizness

That would have been a great argument EXCEPT now the Palins have gone and granted an interview, invited television cameras into their home, and made it everyone's business.

Now how are we supposed to defend the Palins by saying "Leave her kids out of it?" I completely disagree with this move. I think it was a bad idea and Bristol was very obviously not ready to face media cameras. She looked like an immature kid, which is what she is. Why throw chum in the water like this?

A “mistake.”

Are you arguing that the fornication was an inadvertent error?

Oopsie! Where’d that baby come from?

Yes, yes; mistakes were made; nothing to see here; move along.

Has Bristol even said it was a “mistake?” I only see her saying she wished the pregnancy happened later.

I would guess that a good one quarter of the 424 posts on this thread are yours, and they all express your indignation that an 18 year old girl hasn’t publicly acknowledged her sin of fornication and begged for forgiveness.

Dude, or Dudette, if this troubles you so, please call your pastor and have them help you, Biblically, come to terms with this minor blip on the political radar screen. Honest...your two days of postings on this one issue are a little over the top.

Sorry to hear you consider my posts excessive.

No wait, maybe it was just all a mistake.

You certainly shouldn’t judge, should you?

Silly hypocrite.

Mistakes happen, I don’t know the Palin’s personal lives. Some girls want babies . I believe recently there were a bunch of girls from the same school who all decided to get pregnant together. I don’t agree with it myself. I would hope teens not be sexually active however my hoping isn’t going to change the fact that teens have sex. I never bothered to look into Bristol’s personal life. I just hope the best for her & her baby. If she marries fine, if not then I hope she is able to someday find the right man . Have a nice day.

Actually, most of my posts have been replies pointing out the complete dishonesty of most of the bullying attempts to stifle any criticism of anything Palin.

But, now that you mention it, the fornication thing doesn’t go away, either, especially when Palin is presented as the best champion of traditional values.

“I don’t agree with it myself. I would hope teens not be sexually active however my hoping isn’t going to change the fact that teens have sex...”

So is it objectively wrong, or just a matter of taste, like, say, shellfish—some people like it and some don’t?

You asked for it:

Marcus Licinius Crassus: Do you eat oysters?

Antoninus: When I have them, master.

Marcus Licinius Crassus: Do you eat snails?

Antoninus: No, master.

Marcus Licinius Crassus: Do you consider the eating of oysters to be moral and the eating of snails to be immoral?

Antoninus: No, master.

Marcus Licinius Crassus: Of course not. It is all a matter of taste, isn’t it?

Antoninus: Yes, master.

Marcus Licinius Crassus: And taste is not the same as appetite, and therefore not a question of morals.

Antoninus: It could be argued so, master.

Marcus Licinius Crassus: My robe, Antoninus. My taste includes both snails and oysters...

I think they (the families) thought maybe the air should be cleared and that GVS was someone they could trust.

I believe I heard that no matter whether Greta or Bristol asked for the interview, the family was not informed of it until the day before and were told by Bristol.

Bristol's actions CAN affect the popular attitudes of people toward Governor Palin....and the press will see to it!

Thus, we cannot allow ourselves to play into their hands. We all have to realize, the counterculture IS the popular culture. And thus it is extraordinarily difficult for conservatives and their families to remain unaffected, as much as we may try and resist it. Only a tiny percentage of conservatives and their families can claim they have emerged from today's society, completely unscathed by the world the left has created.

How fortunate for the Clinton's, Chelsea knew/knows how to use birthcontrol. On second thought scratch that. It has nothing to do with good fortune...Hillary saw to that!

Having a face that looked like Webb Hubbell helped.

Here’s an oldie:

Nearly half the sailors on a tramp steamer were shipwrecked on a deserted island, along with one of the passengers, an attractive young lady. Weeks, then months pass, until one day another ship sights them and rescues them. On board this rescue ship was a minister, put in charge of the search effort as part of his church’s ministry to sailors.

Talking to the sailors as they’re brought aboard he asked one of the sailors about the survivors of the wreck. Learning of the girl, but not seeing among the rescued, the minister asks where the girl was. The sailor tells him she had died a couple of months after the wreck; they had buried her. The minister, wanting to arrange a memorial service, asked, “Was she a good woman in the time you knew her; was she chaste?”

The old salt replied unhesitatingly, “Aye and to be sure. All over the island.”

Again, for the nth time to everyone who Bothers to read and understand, I was using the DICTIONARY definition of the word -- a child born of unmarried parents. THAT's ALL. There is NO INTENT to disparage or insult anyone.

“There is NO INTENT to disparage or insult anyone.”

That’s exactly what you did.

If you saw Sarah in person, would you ask her about her “bastard grandchild”?

Why not? too disparaging and insulting?
