Palin's teen daughter wishes pregnancy came later

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Bristol Palin loves motherhood, but the teenage daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she's not getting much sleep these days.

Bristol Palin says in a two-part interview on Fox News Channel's "On the Record" that she wishes her pregnancy had "happened in, like, 10 years so I could have a job and an education and be, like, prepared and have my own house and stuff."

Palin goes on to say that son Tripp, born Dec. 27, brings her so much joy, she doesn't regret having him at all. She's engaged to the baby's father, Levi Johnston.

The governor also made an appearance in the interview, which took place Sunday in Fairbanks.

Part one of the interview aired Monday night and the second part was scheduled to air Tuesday night.

True but if he wasn't who he was the company would probably have realized their mistake and gave him a time line to get his GED before graduating.

As for any learning disability , not all young men are cut out for public cookie cutter academic programs. It was reported that he did a good first job and was also doing well in training.

As I am disgusted about fellow conservatives that feel any imperfection is worthy of scorn, and extol the virtues of forced acceptance of something an individual does not believe in.

Do you, for instance, seriously believe that Palin can any longer stand as a credible advocate for abstinence-based sex education—never mind abstinence-only?

Yes. Jesus hasn't come back so regular human beings are what we have to choose from.

I don’t know that to be the case...

That goes without saying.

It was probably mostly her child’s juvenile irresponsibility that created the situation, ...

Duh! Do you think so?

...but we do circle back around to questions about thing like that.

No, you circle back to that because you can't get your head out of the tabloids. That is the level of your political sophistication and that's the best you can do. Back to Britney.

If they’re not willing to commit to each other and the child now, they have no business trying to raise the child.

So it would be ok with you if they got married and divorced right away then? What other qualifications do you require for marriage?

I'm sorry, I've been trying to be kind but you're whole concept of not being able to raise a child because they aren't married is utterly foolish, especially considering the support system Bristol and Levi have around them. I'd be willing to bet you'd advocate the state coming to take away the child and giving it to a 'proper' family, wouldn't you?

If Bristol had had an abortion we would have been told of it by the SWAT Team of media sent to Alaska to 'investigate' her mom. Then, even if Gov. Palin did not know of the procedure, the 'holier than thous' here would scream 'hypocrite' at the Governor. That is Palin Derangement Syndrome 1.0.

Todd Palin's Ididarod Race Game is an optional download.

This thread is getting hard to follow.

Chuckle. Firebombs have a way of making that happen.

In a perfect world, things would be LIKE perfect, you know?

Yes, but perfect people are unacceptable because they must be from alien civilizations. And the imperfect are unacceptable because they are, well, imperfect. Circling, circling, circling ... those buzzards just keep circling.

“Do YOU think that adoptive parents are strangers to the children they commit to raise?”

Yeah, sorta. They are strangers to the child. I also know that adoptive parents (those I know) are wonderful parents. And for whatever reason the birth parents chose to give up their child, that’s their choice even though it would never be a choice in my family.

Adoption is a wonderful alternative for those who have no family.

“Do YOU think that adoptive parents are any “stranger” to a newborn infant than its biological parents?”

That’s a tough one. Hmm. Maybe not when the kid is a baby but the kid will want to know about his/her bio parents. It’s definitely a tough one. I’m all for adoption when it’s what the birth parents want/think is best for their kid. It’s not something my immediate family would ever have to deal with because family takes care of family.

So, unless the birth parents decide to put their child up for adoption, it’s not something I’d suggest. There’s no need for strangers to raise another’s kid if there’s family that will raise the kid.

In this instance, there’s no reason for Sarah Palin’s grandchild to be put up for adoption as it seems the family is more than able to raise the baby themselves/help with raising the baby.

Then there’s the whole “open” adoption thing.

It’s all very interesting.

I agree. And I should have included them too.

Can’t you tell? I just read Coulter’s new book and I loved the section on “single moms.”

BASTARD CHILD?????

Let me clear some things up you may not be aware of.........

First, Bristol(and Levi)are responsible enough to admit they made a mistake and their support systems(IE BOTH FAMILIES)are there for them in this time of transition in their lives.

Second, I don’t know either family at all but I guarantee you that if they were normal families out of the spotlight and were down to their last dime they would not ask taxpayers to help support them or Trip.

Unfortunantely, that isn’t the case here where baby factories spit out kids as a way to give them money they didn’t earn so that mommy can have clothes, cigarettes, cars, cellphones houses, beer, food. furniture, etc while the kids get the leftovers.
Still unclear? THE MOTHER IN CALIFORNIA WITH 14 KIDS THAT WILL COST THE TAXPAYERS OF CALIFORNIA(and us)$2 MILLION PLUS TO HELP RAISE TILL THEY TURN 18!!!!

Think I’m blowing smoke?? I own a grocery store and not 15 minutes ago someone bought beer with cash(probably mine) and whipped out the food stamp card to buy her milk. See that happens here all the time, but if I tell mommy to get a job, I get laughed at cause they know she has me wrapped around her little finger.

They know exactly which days of the month the checks and support they didn’t earn hit the mailbox. So what happens is these mensas stumble out of bed 5 minutes before the mailman shows up hand held out and grin from ear to ear.

But because Levi and Bristol decide to hold off of marriage for a minute so that they and the families can concentrate on taking care of Trip, you conider him a bastard child???

STUPID, REALLY EFFING STUPID!!!!!

Excuse me now. 15 minutes till closing time. Time to end my 10 hour work day.....

You forgot the “likes and you knows” ;)

Outside of this thread, just in general, can anyone live up to the perfection/ideal? Has anyone, ever?

Just talking about this family...a decent family, good family. They’re not on welfare. No one is paying their expenses (I assume). This parent has a teen who had sex, certainly not something we want our kids to have(even those of us who remember what it was like to be a teen). Is she (and him) a bad parent because their teen had sex? I don’t think so. I didn’t have sex as a teen, college student (virgin when I got married but my husband wasn’t...does that make him a bad person?).

I don’t want my kids to make mistakes. Certainly not this kind of mistake. But if one of them did, so be it. We’d deal with it.

Cleveland, I would hazard a guess that Baby Trip will not be raised on Food Stamps; Public Assistance; or WIC. I would (as a mom myself) guess that the Palins and the Johnsons are thinking maybe these kids shouldn’t be pushed too fast into a marriage...we (grandparents) can help then, and give them time to mature a little more. THAT IS A CONSERVATIVE FAMILY VALUE...taking care of your ‘own.’
