Joining with the other sovereign state legislation, Texas Rep. Creighton files concurrent resolution which states: WHEREAS, Many federal laws are directly in violation of the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States; and...{snip}
WHEREAS, A number of proposals from previous administrations and some now pending from the present administration and from congress may further violate the Constitution of the United States; now, therefore, be it{snip}
RESOLVED, That this serve as notice and demand to the federal government, as our agent, to cease and desist, effective immediately, mandates that are beyond the scope of these constitutionally delegated powers; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That all compulsory federal legislation that directs states to comply under threat of civil or criminal penalties or sanctions or that requires states to pass legislationor lose federal funding be prohibited or repealed;
That is my opinion too. The Rats are going to stack the deck and bring about another 1948-1994 type of period.
bttt
Hawaii? I’m still hoping for some brave soul to sneak that BC out of Hawaii.
One thing at a time.....but that one’s coming too.
Nice poster. Wish I’d had one to post on the front door of the old house when we left Cali.
Welcome to Texas!
We’re keeping an eye out to see which state seceedes
From what I read later is that this is really just an empty threat. I also herard today that Texas is taking some of the stimulas money.....that’s sad to hear. D*mn that Perry.
Lots of lakes in Conroe, which is a lovely small town about 30 mi north of Houston.
You can not threaten the government with the assertion of state’s rights and at the same time hold your hand out. The latter requires the people in the state to bend over and grab their ankles; the former would allow you to hold your heads up and at least be the masters of your own destinies.

I know, that’s what make me so mad. A lot of the smaller banks in Texas are not taking part in the stimulus, and are using sound judgement on loans, therefore not loosing money. But Perry decided he wanted the money. More than likely to build that stupid super highway form Mexico to Canada. Then he could employ more illegals to build that road. We need to get rid of that traitor. From what I’ve heard, Oklahoma wants no part of that deal and is getting pretty tough on the illegals. I’m moving to Oklahoma, sure is pretty country on the eastern side.
You know what keeps Texas from sliding into the ocean?
Oklahoma sucks. :)
Got that from a previous Freeper post..bears repeating.
You’re talking about the University of Oklahoma right? We’re ahead of ya’ll on this state sovereignty thing, sort of.
Oklahoma has good folks but we have room for more so come on up. There’s a bill in congress to prohibit the feds from building that road. I think it’ll pass.
And besides that, you dredged up a 7 day old thread just to rag on my state. How sad:]
You ragged on Texas! Nah nah nah nah nah NAH
You can rag on OU all you want, their a bunch of Texans anyway.
