Exactly, I'll believe it when I see it! the Republicans making one or two "stands" does not make a trend...

...We'll see if this continues, I liking what I've been seeing so far, but I will not jump behind the band wagon yet. Conservatives and the Conservative movement have been kicked to the curb to many times AFTER an election!

Yes - I keep telling myself that the presidential win for Obama was just the greater of two evils. I’m waiting for totalitarian gun control like they have in sphincters like Mass, NYC, Germany, and England to rise to the top of the Obama/Democrat(and some Republican) tyranny wish list.

So this fing moron threw his vote away on Ron Paul (effectively giving the Dems another vote) and still wants to blame GWB and the Republicans.

On their worst day, a bill like porkulus would never have been considered by Republicans. Neither would turning their backs on Israel, running away from Iraq, the Fairness Doctrine, publicly funded abortions, and so many other basic far left goals.

Republicans and GWB never had a conservative majority in Congress, indeed, only had the majority for four out of eight years. There was no chance to cut the size of the government. Tax cuts were it for restarting our economy after the recession of 2000 and 9/11.

Paulites and borderbots have gotten exactly what they wanted...no RINOs. Problem is, that handed total control to the far left Democrats. 7 out of 10 of the most liberal Republicans are out of office...each one replaced by a DEMOCRAT.

Enjoy it you morons!!!

You people just don't get it do you. Ron Paul never had a chance to win. By voting for him you took away votes from McCain (who was the last republican we wanted) but better than the DOPE you gave us. Thanks alot. And your children who will be stuck paying for this SPOS will thank you also. NOT!

The Republicans mistake in the primaries was that instead of saying, “Ron’s right on a lot of issues but...” disagreeing with him on foreign policy, they pilloried his economic ideas, small governmetn ideas, et al. That left a bad taste in my mouth.

They were still fighting so THEY could play Santa with the Treasury instead of the Dems. That was/is the wrong game to play.

PS - Good luck funding a war in Iraq or anyplace else with these deficits.

So if Ron Paul was the savior why did he NOT warn us about what the liberals were doing to the economy. Seems to me he was far more concerned in stopping US from fighting barbaric uncivilized terrorists in their own sand pits, than preserving our economy.

I never paid much attention to Ron Paul especially went he ranted against the ‘war’, but I have no memory of him warning anybody about the looming housing bubble and the liberal bankers spreading toxic debt through out the economic system.

djsherin ,I see you attract the Bush/McCain-bots who jump in your posts to attack Paul. It’s so ironic that the major complaint about Paul is that he was against any involvement of the US in the Middle East. Yet it was Bush leading congress, having is own party for 5-6 years, that bankrupted the nation and our greatly hurt our status as a world power. (and he gave us Pelosi 2006 and then Obama 2008 with a socialist mandate.) Read James Dale Davidsons 1980s book, the “Great Reckoning ‘. World powers are always destroyed and replaced when they bankrupt themselves with multiple wars and welfare spending at the same time(with broad based tax cuts and rebates). It was England before us. So Bush is more responsible than even democrats for our destruction which is why he is blamed by most of public. Ron Paul followers (I was not one) had nothing to do with it and if anything warned us.

the Beltway Republicans are trying to convince us that they've seen the light and converted to fiscal conservatism

Yeah, right....I'll believe THAT when pigs start flying.

If it were up to Ron Paul all of our troops would be home right now and we would have lost the War, which would certainly be friendly to our enemies. I will never forgive him for being a first class idiot.

Anything short of burning Collins, Snowe and Specter in effigy is underwhelming.
