Dear Concerned Citizen,
The liberals are at it again. In a new bill introduced the first day of the present session of Congress, and with zero coverage from the MSM, H.R. 45 (Blair Holts Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009) targets all gun owners in the U.S.A. While the media the world and everyone else is focused on the phony plan to spend tax dollars legislation is sneeking through the House and Senate for more gun control.
This nefarious bill seeks to strip us all of our Constitutional Rights to possess and bear firearms of any distinction. It requires, within the first two years, that all new guns be registered. The bill goes retroactive after two years. Meaning that two years after the passage of the bill, ALL FIREARMS in a citizens possession must be registered, not just those purchased after the bill passes, and this apparently applies to antique firearms as well.

Good luck enforcing it.
Interesting how we have to look at FOREIGN PAPERS for news in the U.S..
We are being so bamboozled.
Prohibits:
Transferring a firearm to any person other than a licensee, unless the transfer is processed through a licensed dealer in accordance with national instant criminal background check system requirements, with exceptions;
Licensed manufacturer or dealer from failing to comply with reporting and record keeping requirements of this Act;
Failing to report the loss or theft of the firearm to the Attorney General within 72 hours;
Failing to report to the Attorney General an address change within 60 days;
Keeping a loaded firearm, or an unloaded firearm and ammunition for the firearm, knowingly or recklessly disregarding the risk that a child is capable of gaining access, if a child uses the firearm and causes death or serious bodily injury.
Prescribes criminal penalties for violations of firearms provisions covered by this Act. Directs the Attorney General to:
Establish and maintain a firearm injury information clearinghouse;
Conduct continuing studies and investigations of firearm-related deaths and injuries; and
Collect and maintain current production and sales figures of each licensed manufacturer. Authorizes the Attorney General to certify state firearm licensing or record of sale systems.
Registration is a precursor to Confiscation.
This bill will make many Americans into criminals as guns are hidden all over the country, some buried in cache’s, others hidden in attics and enclosed walls. It’s too bad I sold all of mine recently at a yard sale and didnt keep a record of the sales. Buy your ammunition now before your name is need to buy it. Stock up.
Wouldn’t the states have something to say about that? Each state has its own constitution regarding the right of gun ownership... from what I’ve been reading states are slowly reacting to what the fed’s are telling them as to how to run their states ....
Not a problem for me — I got rid of mine a long time ago.
NRA: Rumors and the Economic Stimulus Bill: We have been hearing many rumors, and receiving many inquiries, about “buried” provisions in the federal economic stimulus bill that would negatively affect our Second Amendment rights. People have claimed the bill would designate interstate highways as national parks, or impose ammunition encoding and new ammunition taxes. Fortunately, and contrary to what you may have heard, there are no provisions in this bill prohibiting firearms or ammunition anywhere, or for anyone.

U.S. Representative Bobby Rush (D-Ill.) recently sponsored H.R. 45, also known as “Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act.” The bill is, at its core and as its name implies, a licensing and registration scheme.
The measure calls for all handgun owners to submit to the federal government an application that shall include, among many other things: a photo; an address; a thumbprint; a completed, written firearm safety test; private mental health records; and a fee. And those are only some of the requirements to be licensed!
The bill would further require the attorney general to establish a database of every handgun sale, transfer, and owner’s address in America. Moreover, the bill would make it illegal to own or possess a “qualifying firearm” — defined as “any handgun; or any semiautomatic firearm that can accept any detachable ammunition feeding device ” [emphasis added] without one of the proposed licenses.
Additionally, the bill would make it illegal to transfer ownership of a “qualifying firearm” to anyone who is not a licensed gun dealer or collector (with very few exceptions), and would require “qualifying firearm” owners to report all transfers to the attorney general’s database. It would also be illegal for a licensed gun owner to fail to record a gun loss or theft within 72 hours, or fail to report a change of address within 60 days. Further, if a minor obtains a firearm and injures someone with it, the owner of the firearm may face a multiple-year jail sentence.
H.R. 45 is essentially a reintroduction of H.R. 2666, which Rush introduced in 2007. H.R. 2666 contained much of the same language as H.R. 45, and was co-sponsored by several well-known anti-gun legislators—including Barack Obama’s chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel. H.R. 45 currently has no co-sponsors.

all mine were lost in a tragic boating accident.
Well, for the immediate future we must keep the pressure on our legislators and encourage everyone we know to join both the NRA and GOA. When, not if, some of this legislation sticks, each of us will need to make a personal decision how we will respond to the process and the processors. Eveyone should get to know their local LEOs and find out what they really believe about the Constitution. They are not getting all tactical for no good reason!
Same here. I never had any to begin with.
That reminds, me, I have run out of CCI Large Pistol primers again.
( I collect primers.)
Yeah, remember me I was on that fishing trip with you, man I wish I hadn't brought ALL my hardware and ammo... such a tragic loss...
If I buy a gun; I’d break the law-civil disobedience. Let them pry it..so it goes.\
I spent the last few days driving to SC and back to trade mine in for Roses and gift cards, got a dozen Roses for my lady and gift cards for me.
Am I good or what?
Yeah, me too, and I will get rid of my ammo in any fed that tries to take my non-existent firearms away! I just wish I was younger, because I can sure as hell see a fight shaping up!
I have some if you are serious. Large rifle CCI. I use them for my non-existent .44 special.
