Dem’s Use “Stimulus” as Cover for More Gun Control
Canada Free Press ^ | February 13, 2009 | CCRKBA

Dear Concerned Citizen,

The liberals are at it again. In a new bill introduced the first day of the present session of Congress, and with zero coverage from the MSM, H.R. 45 (Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009) targets all gun owners in the U.S.A. While the media the world and everyone else is focused on the “phony plan” to spend tax dollars legislation is sneeking through the House and Senate for more gun control.

This nefarious bill seeks to strip us all of our Constitutional Rights to possess and bear firearms of any distinction. It requires, within the first two years, that all new guns be registered. The bill goes retroactive after two years. Meaning that two years after the passage of the bill, ALL FIREARMS in a citizen’s possession must be registered, not just those purchased after the bill passes, and this apparently applies to antique firearms as well.

Yeah, I still collect percussion caps and Triple Se7en powder for that Navy revolver that got swept away in the flood years ago.

Thanks for the info. I should print that out and put it on the fridge to make me feel better. I sent out 4 letters to Washington yesterday concerning HR 45. Let’s all be vigilant. Liberals never ever give up. Never. They are like Zombies, unstopable. That’s why I have so much ammo. : )

Is this for real? I haven’t heard any thing about it from the NRA.

I don’t believe this has a chance, even in the Pelosi congress. If it were to become law, it would be the most ornerous new gun control law ever.

i just purchased a couple of new weapons in the last 2 months. Make a big mistake. See I was boating in the gulf of mexico, sitting on deck with them all disassembled while cleaning them, a couple of big swells rocked the boat - and yup, everything went over the side - think we were about 4 miles offshore when it happened. I’m just sick about the whole thing.

And to think I have a 1000 rounds of ammunition being shipped to me right now...

OK, this is an extremely scary bill. It reminds me of equally scary bills offered by Kennedy the Swimmer in 1968 and for years later until the Dawn of Reagan. Mostly seeking to criminalize gunowners.

But isn’t it true that the current bill lacks a single cosponsor and is likely to die in committee?

IMHO, the gungrabbing bill will backfire and create a nationwide backlash, already evident in the national run on guns and ammo.

This administration is being fleshed out with some truly wicked enemies of freedom, but they are not supermen.

Meanwhile, I need to locate more 5.56mm. Bricks and bricks of it.

;^)

You know what I was considering today, contributing to the NRA’s fund that fights stuff like this. I think it’s the NRA-ILA fund.

I already re-upped my membership for 5 years but I think that is not enough to stop the Zombies from attacking. A special contribution just to fight the liberals is in order.

It would also be illegal for a licensed gun owner to ... fail to report a change of address within 60 days.

That will not be enough. In short order they will require 10 to 14 days advance notice of the move.

And it will be a perfectly legal requirement, just as it was for registered sex offenders.

I’m not certain that we are going to be able to avoid what is coming; gun control is just the start of the push. If you have the resources, by all means back the NRA as much as possible. If we, as citizens, cannot stick together on this important aspect of our Constitutional heritage, we are going to be ridden down one at a time. At some point there will be a call to muster to our respective militias so we had better get the soul searching done now.

I wish I hadn’t lost my firearms overboard too, must have been a heck of a storm...

Not a problem for me — I got rid of mine a long time ago.

Me too. I thought, "I don't hunt, so what do I need these for?"

Doesn’t matter much ,, my local WalMart has had empty ammo shelves for about 6 months ,, they get shipments in but if you’re not camped out in the sporting goods department it’s all gone by the time you get there. I have no idea why it’s going so fast ... heard someone say WalMart will save Amerika , or was that America?

BTW “Red Dawn” is in the $5 DVD bin...

It takes 34 States to call a constitutional convention. In 1983, for a balanced budget amendment to the US constitution, 32 of 34 States voted in favor.

Action should begin now in State legislatures around the country to call for a constitutional convention, with the idea of reducing federal power in favor of the individual States and the people. Subjects for consideration by the constitutional convention include the following:

1) Defaulting on the national debt of the United States.
2) A balanced budget amendment to the constitution of the United States.
3) A line item presidential veto amendment.
4) Repeal of the 16th (Income tax) and 17th (popular election of senators) amendments.
5) An amendment limiting the power of the federal government to tax only import tariffs, over interstate commerce, and the individual States.
6) The declaration that the constitution of the United States is superior to judicial precedent, and prohibiting the citation of foreign judicial decisions.
7) A prohibition against federal judges directing State legislatures to pay for federal mandates or laws.
8) A prohibition against the federal government paying largesse to individuals not employed by the government.
9) Conference committee actions may not add to, but only delete from laws passed by the houses of congress.
10) Returning such rights to the individual States and the people that have been encroached by the federal government, as is determined in the course of the constitutional convention.
11) Directing the president of the United States to renegotiate Indian treaties in accordance with current federal and State laws.
12) Renunciation of all treaties and foreign agreements impinging on the sovereignty of the United States or the guaranteed freedoms of its people.

Great, equating gun owners with sex offenders. How’s that for being a lawful citizen?

For the life of me I cannot remember what happened to all my guns.
It's been so long since I've laid eyes on them.
Strange, Huh officer?

“Registration is a precursor to Confiscation.”

Registration is a precursor to taxation which is a precursor to more taxation so that the “little guy” can’t afford to have a gun.

Fortunately for the little guy, he’ll be able to get whatever he wants while he’s buying his black-market smokes, potato chips, incandescent light bulbs, liquor, and medical care.
