WASHINGTON (AP) Sen. John McCain says President Barack Obama failed to include Republicans in writing the big economic stimulus bill.
The Arizona Republican says the $787 billion measure will create what he calls "generational theft" huge federal deficits for years to come.
McCain, who lost the presidential race to Obama, says the president is backtracking on promises of bipartisanship. McCain is not happy with the process that led to passage of the stimulus bill. He calls it a bad beginning to Obama's presidency.
McCain acknowledges that Republicans excluded Democrats when the GOP held power on Capitol Hill. But he says Obama had promised to work differently.
McCain offers this advice: "Let's start over now and sit down together."

I didn’t see this addressed but believe it to be a dang lie (no child left behind for one). McCain is also old enough to know you can’t reason with unreasonable people ..... heck they can’t even get that through their heads with the so called “Palestinians”.
I just got an email from McCain the other day. Hes asking for money for his re-election. He mistakenly thinks that since I supported him for POTUS (no choice), that Im going to support his re-election as AZ Senator. Not.
lol. That is hilarious. I would send it back saying, “I had no choice to vote for you, you dimwit”.
I blame him personally for this cess pool we have in the Oval office: The Amnesty crapola with the drunk really deflated our party and enabled the terrorists to take over the executive branch and the house 2 years ago.
The pathetic ‘My Friends’, let’s sit down together is similar to the ‘Fight with Me’ bull he said on the campaign. McCain has serious problems of the Stockholm Syndrome variety. He is the Lion in the Wizard of Oz, no courage.

So what is McCain complaining about? Oh-he is a Republican now?
He should just resign then devote FULL time doling out this love and care for Mexicans, maybe even move to Tijuana that way the affairs of the United States will not interrupt or cloud his thinking now that the real damage has been done here.

***I got one as well. Didn’t realize he was begging for $ outside the state. Promptly sent an email saying I didn’t vote for him in previous elections, only voted for him for Pres. because of Sarah and won’t vote for him in 2010.
Also said that he needs to choose a better group of friends...held him responsible for Specter, Collins and Snowe. How hard did he really “work them over?”
Only pleasant thing I said was, “Have a nice day.”
McCain: “McCain acknowledges that Republicans excluded Democrats when the GOP held power on Capitol Hill.”
Nevadan: This is a flat out lie. The Republicans were far TOO bipartisan. That’s what got them trouble with conservatives and with the rest of the country. The Republican leadership never seem to learn from the Dems that you can’t “make nice” with your opponents when you get the chance. The Dems never do.
Bush, McCain, and so many others fall for this “bipartisan” idiocay every time. We and the rest of the country pay for it over and over. I pray to God that the Senate Republicans learn from the House Republicans. I’m not very hopeful, but maybe they will wise up.
Horse crap, McCain. Obama is a non American dictator. He has no desire to sit down with you unless you kiss his ring.
McCain really is a stupid old fool seeking attention because he is irrelevant.
Now that is a blatant lie, and is useful only as cover for Obama. Juan really may be the most effective political mole of our time, making him at least the best something for a change. At what point will the GOP stop tolerating its members taking deliberate aim and shooting the rest of the party in the foot?
(Yeah I know... they won't, and Michael Steele is going to find it a heavy lift to just keep enough money coming in to make sure the movers and shakers are supplied with coffee and croissants.)
While I still think McCain was a better choice than Zero (admittedly not a difficult feat) the man never fails to disappoint. The sun comes up in the East, and John McCain is always ready to lend the Dems a hand with the suppository of the day.
Mr. niteowl77
LOL
I wish I’d thought to give him a piece of my mind like you did. ;)
Sounds like Johniie has battered wife syndrome.
“He’s a good man, really... It was my fault”
“I pray to God that the Senate Republicans learn from the House Republicans.”
What’s that expression about old dogs and new tricks?
I am beginning to think the Dems are the only one with an agenda that they are willing to go after, the Repubs just enjoy living in DC and going to parties. No agenda, little soul.
“McCain really is a stupid old fool seeking attention because he is irrelevant.”
BINGO!
#1 in votes (regardless of party) becomes president,
#2 in votes (regardless of party) becomes vice-president.
