WASHINGTON America is bringing shock and awe to the home front, using dollars instead of bombs.
It's the military doctrine of lightning force fast and brute, or as brute as the shaken country can manage applied to the campaign for economic recovery.
With a record-busting stimulus plan, the U.S. is marshaling resources against economic catastrophe in ways not seen since Franklin Roosevelt put the New Deal in motion.

Obama needs to get away from Washington already?
Obama to sign stimulus bill in Denver
President Obama will come to Denver to sign the landmark economic stimulus bill.
The bill-signing, an unusual event outside of Washington, will be Tuesday at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science in City Park. The president also will give a speech about the economy.
Attendance at the midday event is by invitation only, and all invitations have been distributed.
CNN reported that a senior administration official cited a desire to get “away from the politics of Washington.”
Obama last visited Colorado with a trip to Pueblo the weekend before he was elected.
The bill, officially named the Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Plan, will give $787 billion to a variety of programs designed to stimulate the economy. It was passed Friday by both houses of Congress.
Why do these liberal morons from the testosterone-free, DemocRATik Party always find it necessary to use military terms to describe what they are doing?
AP can what ever they want, the problem is the individual financial terrain does not support consumer spending. The average consumer is maxed out on his home equity, and maxed out on his credit cards. He needs time to pay down his debts and increase savings before he can go out an buy things, assuming his job is stable. Everyone I know will not buy anything major unless the car or appliance is broken and beyond repair. The US will remain in a slowdown until all the bad foreclosed real estate is auctioned off and the losses from leveraging are paid off and written off the books before banks can start lending. Right now we have approx 4.5 years worth of foreclosed homes to sell. In 2009 we are facing a COMMERCIAL real estate collapse as stores and offices close and mall/office developers are unable to collect rent and pay their balloon mortgages coming due in mid 2009. Experts estimate these losses will equal the residential real estate losses incurred by the banks. As more people are unemployed, credit card defaults are rising and these losses will also hit the banks. The US is borrowing and covering approx 7 trillion in losses by the banks and insurance companies from residential mortgages, will the feds be able to cover the commerical mortgages and credit card defaults hitting our banks very soon???? We will know by June 2009.
Joseph Goebbels would be proud of the American media, they are carrying on his tradition of lies and distortions. What is simply amazing is that the American public buys into this crap. Or, are they just wishful thinking?

Ini other words, No Pubbies allowed, only Dems.<,p> Pubbies locked out of Bouse conference on Stimulus,
Looks like that good old "bipartisanship" is actually mono partisanship. And a good thing too.
Battlelines are being drawn across the country by the thing who thinks himself president.
Obama means to cow the populus who did not vote for him.WHich is a joke. Unklike Dems, Conservatives cannot be cowed so easily, and thats 45 percent of those who voted.
IMHO, Nancy Benac and Calvin Woodward drank too much and took some wicked drugs Saturday night before writing this.
I’d hate to think normal people, even reporters for AP, could come up with stuff like this without some artificial stimulation.
Maybe I wish for too much. :)

Lots of cluelessness and wishful thinking. I work in Obama-central near DC. The Obamanites that I know voted for him because they thought he would force companies to in-source and give them a job (but only a nice job with flexible hours and high pay). Others thought the Democrats would do a "better job" managing the economy. Others were just pissed at the Republicans for various reasons. Others were just leftist or tools for the left.
I listen to WTOP news radio (DC area) and the local announcer called the vote in the House a “landmark” vote. I listened to the rest trying to figure out why they said that, but there was nothing landmark about it. They just sit there and drool over whatever Obama does.

Six-pack of your favorite beer for the first person to find the word ‘boondoggle’ in any AP article that is written about the Democrat-passed “stimulus”.
This goes beyond that... Way, WAY BEYOND!!!
All the way to artificial insemination!!!
