JIHADISTS are celebrating the worst tragedy in Victoria's history.
Terror watchdogs said fundamentalists had blogged on websites across the globe, applauding the lives lost and destruction.
Senior analyst at SITE Intelligence Group Adam Raisman said they were posting pictures of burnt homes and devastated victims and "taking joy in the scenes".
One jihadist wrote: "It would be an act of revenge for Australian's participation in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq."
Bushfires victims said they were stunned.

I'm not. They shouldn't be either.
It was another FReeper who posted that satellite photo of widespread, far-flung fires dotting the State of Victoria up and down the length and breadth.
There is no way, no way, that could have been natural. This had to have been organized arson. There were other articles of Islamist websites threatening “Fire Jihad” several years previously.
They published an artist’s computer image of one of the people seen setting the fires. He certainly looked SE Asian to me. Most people believe he is Bangladeshi; apparently there are a lot of Bangladeshis in Australia, virtually all of them Muslim. He’s suspected of setting the Marysville fire, where many people died.
Also, they actually arrested a man in another fire - and refused to release his name. I wonder why?
Actually, it could rather easily be natural - Friday night, before the fires of Saturday - there were dry thunderstorms across wide areas of rural Victoria. Lots of lightning.
Some of the fires were deliberately lit. Forensic examination is indicating many of them were not. The possibility of some organised group lighting some of the deliberately lit fires can’t be eliminated, but there’s no automatic reason to assume it’s the case.
Bushfire is common in Australia. On any given day over summer, you expect 200 bushfires to be burning somewhere in Victoria. Most are small and in areas where they can be allowed to burn themselves out - but on a day with high winds and very high temperatures, things change a lot.
Alas, it seems the #1 cause is all too familiar to Californians—the big buildup of sacrosanct underbrush and deadwood and Mickey Mouse enviro regulations that wouldn’t allow locals to clear safe areas around their dwellings.
I read the article about how N.S.W. has done a much better job through reviving the old Aborigine methods of fire management in their areas.
Actually, he's not - he's a suspect in the Ivanhoe fire which is a much smaller fire than most of the others and in which no lives or property were lost. No images of suspects in the Marysville fire have been released.
Also, they actually arrested a man in another fire - and refused to release his name. I wonder why?
Probably because he hasn't formally appeared in court yet. That should happen tomorrow. If his identity is still suppressed after that, it will be unusual, but even then could be to protect his family members from reprisals etc.
From what is known about him, it seems quite likely he's one of our homegrown firebugs. He tried to join the CFA as a volunteer firefighter but but was rejected on psychological grounds. He has a history of lighting fires in his own backyard and simply standing there and staring at them.
I remember one time thinking that people who gloat over the victims of tragedy are already victims themselves-of their own warped minds. Don’t let the scum get you down, the good people of the world are with Victoria.
