The stimulus bill violates every free market principle and, as in physics, every action creates an equal and opposite reaction. We've now created a Ponzi-scheme economy and our unmanageable debt will inevitably lead to hyper-inflation of the sort that has always destabilized the political and economic infrastructure of every nation that's experienced it. We're in for a prolonged period of "inflationary depression." The new socialist political strucure has developed a Soviet-style command economy of the sort that ultimately impoverishes both the people and the state.

Much better put!
hid the guns and bury the ammo! They’re coming.
Definitely. Obama’s plan isn't socialistic. It's much more like Communistic and I can assure you, when the sh8t really hits the fan, the DUmmies will be the first to go ballistic.
It's all a part of the long term plan to install Socialism a little bit at a time while lying their asses off about what they are really doing.
Remember whenever you read its for the children, for the environment for some other BS cause or other, hold onto your wallet and your freedoms.
As Rush said last week several times, Free Market Capitalism is under a huge attack by a slick probably illegal enemy.
So in the end we wind up with a Stalinist type of soviet czar,
Not me, we are so out of here long before that happens. Don’t get me wrong, I love my country, but when that happens it won’t be my country any longer. We will move to our other home outside of the US, permanently and obtain citizenship there.
Zero is indeed Manchurian and is played as a live marionette by the players both inside the white house and out such as axelrod and the rest.
A lot of people say that and think that until you figure out that the U.S. has major league ties to almost every civilized country in the world and if it goes down it takes a large part of the world with it.
What country? I’ve had several say they are ready to leave the US and they’re serious. Some are saying Mexico but I’m not convinced.
You’re right. Stalin, Molotov, Kaganovich, Mikoyan et al. spent many an evening enjoying a fine meal, laughing, and swilling vodka while millions perished in the purges and collectivization.
I’m thinking of re-reading Jefferson’s Kentucky resolution!
Totally correct. The far-Left always planned to establish socialism incrementally - step by little step. And they’ve succeeded.
Why hide and bury? Use ‘em for Christ’s sake
That point always got me, too. And yet, the masses fall for it all the time. Incredible.
Another question for you or anyone else on these boards who knows a bit about history and economics: what happens to real estate value in times of Argentina-like hyperinflation?
New Zealand looks the best from the reading I’ve done on it.
I’d still want to try every conceivable option, including some that we’re discouraged from discussing here, before going to some other country.
Pardon, but that sounds a bit counter-intuitive to me, if your intention is to remain free.
You touched on something that IMHO is perhaps the most outrageous action of the Obama administration: The clear attempt to SUBVERT OUR ELECTORAL PROCESS by removing the Census from the Commerce Department and putting it under the control of a partisan political hack like Rahm Immanuel. Rather than taking a census by an actual head count they will use the method of extrapolating by estimates. That gives them a clear opportunity to definitely tilt things in favor of Democratic minority groups. We all know the census determines not only congressional districts and electoral votes but how a whole array of federal funds are dispersed. The MSM has hardly discussed (surprise!) this blatant attempt to politicize the census as has NEVER before happened in American history. And this after only a month - can you imagine what it will be like in a year or two if this crap isn’t stopped?!
Right - somewhere I posted a statement by Arnold Toynbee that says essentially the same thing: “Civilizations are not destroyed by murder, but from suicide.”
I believe it’s a premise that goes back thousands of years. I probably did a terrible job of bastardizing the phrase (or perhaps a great job of it, LOL), but it’s drift is quite true IMO. And I think we’ve just jumped the shark.
If we survive the next four years in any recoverable shape, it will be one hell of an election.
Thanks for the mention of Toynbee’s similar thoughts.
What do you find intriguing about New Zealand? I think I heard someone else say that.
