February 13, 2009 Good News! Specter's numbers tanking in PA

Rick Moran

Some good news to start off your weekend. Arlen Specter is in trouble with the voters in Pennsylvania.

A look inside the numbers shows the problem for Specter may be even more significant. Fifty-eight percent (58%) of Republican voters in the state are less likely to vote for Specter.

Among voters not affiliated with either major party, just 27% are more likely to support the long-time incumbent while 48% are less likely to do so.

These numbers are not surprising given the partisan response to the stimulus bill itself.

Nationwide, support for the stimulus legislation increased following President Obama’s nationally televised press conference earlier this week. Still, the legislation is perceived as being what Democrats want rather than a bipartisan product.

GOOD NEWS? He has always been a RINO from the get-go! He’ll be easily replaced by another RAT nothing lost here! I have resigned myself as much as it pains me to say THE America I was knew and loved no longer exist. My grand-baby will NEVER know the true past history of this ONCE great nation. I am saddened and dismayed the majority AmeriKan folk don’t give a damn. Rome lasted what? 500 years or so, America didn’t even make half of that! The RATS will have control once again for many many years to come. By the time the Republicans get back to power there won’t be much left to rescue the USA. I MISS the RONALD REAGAN fighting spirit(wiping tears). WELCOME TO THE NEW USSA. FREAKIN BASTARD RATS AND MEDIA I LOATHE THEM GO TO HELL YOU .....UGHHHHH!!! OK, I’ve vented! Feel much better now!

Specter will be lucky if he is allowed to finish this term not to mention denied re-election.

BTW A big thank-you to GW Bush and Rick Santorum for helping this clown get re-elected in 2004. I told them then that they were fools to do that and I will stand by that.

Nice to hear, but I expect he has no plans to run again due to his age.

The numbers are not surprising. What will be surprising is who will come to his rescue.Murtha pulled it out at the end too. I was born and raised in PA. It is shameful what has happened to it. Phila & Pitt. to a lesser extent run the show. Crying, crying shame.

He wouldn’t be here now if Bush and Santorum hadn’t supported him over Toomey.

What a stupid argument. I am sick and tired of conservatives who blame someone else for their lack of success.

The FACT remains that not enough conservatives came out in the PA primary to vote for Toomey. Too many conservatives sat home and complained about Specter but didn't pull the lever for anyone at all.

So stop this foolishness of blaming someone else for losing an election....you sound like a liberal.

He should resign with shame. Remember Bush supported this loser.

I MISS the RONALD REAGAN fighting spirit

I just visited the Reagan Library yesterday. They have Air Force One there now too. It was rather uplifting in these truly dark times even though I went with a liberal relative who couldn't shut up.

Hopefully he will remain in the tank. This toxic RINO’s 15 minutes have been in overtime for 20 minutes.

We want that time back!!

Specter’s days of appeasing the Rat overlords are numbered.

He's done his useful commie stint. Now "after-the-fact" ya'll throw him out. Damage done & we knew he would do this. Let's see which pubbies will have to take one on the next vote to enslave the people for the elites.

I hope the Republican symbol is the elephant because of our memories. I can see all three of these sacks of excrement wringing their hands about being stabbed in the back by “their friends and honorable colleagues” on the other side of the aisle and promising to toe the conservative GOP line if we just forgive them and support them again. We must never forget or forgive.

Does anybody have the numbers on Senators Landrieu, Tester, Baucus, Dorgan, Conrad, Johnson, Nelson(Neb.), Pryor, Lincoln and McCaskill?...all Senators who voted for the bill and all Senators who come from non Obama states.

I thought not.

Yeah, sure. Except you forget that if it’s not Specter it’s another one of the RINO’s screwing us. Specter voting 2/3rd’s doesn’t make a damn bit of difference if he takes turns with his other turncoats to sabotage legislation. In the end they all ensure through a fgame of musical chairs we never have the votes we need for any bill and only hurt the brand.

better to ditch him and put funding behind those in states we could win that would have a better track record on their votes. Only win the Senate finds some of that backgroun the House has discovered will people start to get excited again and start donating and working for Republicans again..which means a beter chance of a majority again.

Yes, but the Economic Stimulus bill was a very tough decision for our esteemed Senator Specter, and he voted for it with reservations.

Believe that bullsh!t and you are either a brain dead liberal or from another planet.

I realize that there are a fair amount of the electorate who are close to brain dead, but there are many of us who are NOT easily fooled by Specter’s rhetoric. He’s a liberal, he might as well switch parties now, and he hopefully won’t make it past the primary next year.

FINALLY! Someone posting on FR who actually lists Bush AND Santorum as supporters of Sphincter in his last re-election campaign.

Don't blame me; I voted for Toomey!
