...Isakson had to be tempted because hed succeeded in getting a $15,000 tax credit for those who buy a primary residence, something he thinks essential to jump-start the housing sector. Had he agreed to support the pent-up demands of Democrats whod had their spending ambitions partially checked for eight years, his tax credit language would undoubtedly have stayed in the final bill. He, too, could have stood with Reid and received the showering of blessings as a Great American Patriot that Reid bestowed on Collins, Specter and Snowe.
That photo op would, of course, have been political suicide back in Georgia since, in about two years, the details of this spending bill which are largely unknown to members of Congress and to the media would have filtered out. The more we know, the more likely it is that the nation will come to understand how little this had to do with economic stimulus and how much it had to do with enacting a social agenda that includes national single-payer health insurance.

If at the time of filing income tax, how will it be applied. If in the long form, it won't mean much. This thing is a damn joke.
The email I just sent to him as a constituent.
Senator,
I have voted for you; I plan not to in your next election if the article I read in the AJC Online is true. If you feel that giving first time homeowners $15000 tax credits are a way to treat the people, and I mean real taxpayers of this country, fairly, then you are not my kind of Senator.
I’m a citizen, I pay my taxes (what I consider too dearly high, I’ll add) - what is the difference between a first time homeowner and me? The fact that they need help? It is simply not the government’s job to give help to new homeowners at the expense of other taxpayers, period. If you can’t understand that, then you are not the Senator for me come your re-election time. Stop pandering for votes -— please. All you need do is to help the government do its job - to stay out of the way of citizens, protect their liberty and freedom, and to defend the country from without. You don’t do this by giving away other peoples’ money, sir.
Yeah well all the Republicans are just a bunch of RINOS and Im never gonna vote for any of them against and Im gonna vote third party instead and let the Democrats win every election and trash the country because I felt like throwing a little temper tantrum and hissy fit instead of getting behind Republican conservatives to....
((breath))
....take back the country for the conservatism that I say I believe in but show that I dont because Im an idiot who would rather navel gaze and pick my nose and gripe about the RINOs instead of doing something to get rid of them and replace them with solid conservatives because actually....
((breath))
....doing something but gripe and piss and moan would require me to get off my duff and invest some time and effort and maybe even money so Im not gonna do it but will instead just destroy everyone elses morale by being a lame-o loser who would rather whine about how the Republicans....
((breath))
....are all a bunch of RINOs and Im never gonna vote for them instead of helping to retake the Party for conservatism and the country for conservatism and if you dont like it that Im going to vote Liberaltarian or Constitution or some other loser third party....
((breath))
....that doesnt have a frogs eye chance of winning then youre just a sheeple who is also probably a liberal or a RINO too since you obviously dont share my skewed whacked out idea of principles which allow me to sit around and do nothing but gripe and complain and let the Democrats win every election.
/whew
I am one of his constituents as well and I will vote for a toad in the Republican primaries before I will pull the lever again for either of my so called Republican Senators.
Their silence on this pathetic spending bill has been deafening. For evil to operate, men of good will need to do nothing and they have done nothing!!!
For good measure, post it on bulletin boards, all over the web. If we all do this to our own senators/representatives ... it will impress them.
Actually, I’ve seen Sneator Shameless on TV several times speaking against this bill. I think he got the sh*t scared out of him in that last election and hopefully learned a valuable lesson.
Excellent letter.
I agree - what is so great about these first time buyers, and why do only THEY reap the benefits of such a program?
Well it’s obvious that millions of otherwise GOP voters STAY HOME on election day due to rampant RINO’ism.
“It doesn’t matter how they vote as long as there’s an “R” after their name.”
-breath breath-
“Don’t criticize that Republican, even though he voted for trillions in Corporate Welfare and otherwise, he is still better than Harry Reid”
-breath breath-
“We need to run Republicans that the Media likes, and for the Media to like them, they must lurch to the Left, and if you don’t like it, stay home on election day!!”
“I’d rather suck my thumb and complain about RINOs than do anything to remove the RINOs and make the Republicans conservative again.” - BoilingPots
Before the vote last week I called both Chambliss’ and Isakson’s office. Isakson’s aid immediately volunteered that he was going to vote no on cloture and on the bill.
*snort*
Yes, he also tried to Benedict Arnold us with the Amnesty bill and got his underwear readjusted. However, this only changed his and Chambliss' tunes - it didn't change their true hearts and minds.
I'm just damned disgusted with these no-ball, freedom stealing politicians - damn near EVERYONE of them......
