Nobody in Iowa hunts? Oh right. Field of Dreams. I get it.

I’ve never been to Iowa, but this sure doesn’t sound like my image of it.

They’re serious this time — a person could get a fine of up to $50 (from the article).

There is very little information here. As a hunter I was taught that all guns should be cased and unloaded. Doesn’t say so but would appear that this is targeted at concealed carry permits.

Well, I guess if one has a muzzleloader one can say the barrel is “loaded.” But other than that....

How does this NOT infringe on people’s right to travel?
And isn’t it also an infringement on 2A stuff?

In Iowa, a loaded magazine is for legal purposes a loaded gun. Any law pertaining to loaded guns can be applied to a magazine with bullets in it, even if there’s no actual gun around.

I was right!!

In my list of the new Western States of America, I didn’t include Iowa, and this says why!!

Amazing—there are lots of hunters who support Iowa with license fees.

Several years ago the Arkansas Game&Fish had a law passed that makes it illegal to carry a rifle or shotgun in a vehicle on a “public road” that is is not inside a case and unloaded.
