There are many reasons to object to this stinking pile from adding up debt that will increase inflation, taxes and interest rates when its effects are really felt down the road to repeating another Great Society version 2.0. The stimulus was supposed to be targeted, timely and temporary, but Porkulus isn't. Much of it will lead to permanent increases in the Federeal budget, especially in healthcare.
Tom Dascle is gone, but his plan remains which is basically rationing with one size fits all.
Theres Socialized Medicine Burried in Obamas Trillion Dollar Debt Plan
That vision involves using large government bureaucracy and computer technology to tell patients what kind of care they can receive from their doctors. The congressional rationing plan will make doctors supplicants to big government and big insurance, rather than independent advocates for their patients. In the system that Congress envisions, the doctor serves the payer and not the patient.

There's no need for these health care initiatives in a temporary stimulus bill. Call or email your Senators and Representative tonight or in the morning.
Here's Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand's number, DC Phone: 202-224-4451.
Here's the most repulsive Senator Charles E. Schumer's number, (202) 224-6542. The latter is probably hopeless, but annoying him might be enjoyable.

Here’s what my newly elected Representative sent back to me today. What a load of nonsense.
February 12, 2009
Mrs. -————————
Salem, OR
Dear Mrs. ————————
Thank you for writing regarding the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). I appreciate your confidence in me and for your time to write.
The ARRA is designed to ease the pain as our state and nation deal with our troubled economy. I supported this act because the cost of inaction is far too great. Our country is facing a crisis. In Oregon alone, the unemployment rates are a staggering 9%.
The ARRA includes support for the foundations of our economy with unparalleled accountability measures built in. The bill includes targeted funding support for: education for the 21st century; clean, efficient, American energy; modernizing roads, bridges, transit and waterways, lowering healthcare costs; saving public sector jobs, creating new public sector jobs, and protecting vital services; transforming our economy with science and technology; helping workers hurt by the economy; tax cuts to make work pay and create jobs.
Our district will receive targeted funds that we so desperately need. By helping our schools with underfunded budgets we promise a future of highly trained individuals. By helping our small businesses now we keep dinner on the table for countless of our neighbors. And by rebuilding our outdated infrastructure we create new jobs for the unemployed and make Oregon more globally competitive.
I understand that the ARRA comes at a high cost. However, the cost of doing nothing is far too great. Indeed, economists testifying before my budget committee stated that our long term ability to deal with our debt burden would be much worse if we allow the nations economy to sink without any support. We must be active in promoting our economy and stabilizing the United States as a model to the world.
Thank you again for contacting me and should you have any further questions or concerns, please contact my office by calling (202) 225-5711 or 1-877-301-KURT.
Sincerely,
Did somebody mention Undead?
Ah, Zombie Porkulus.
The Dems are busy reinserting everything that was stripped out of the bill.
And they’re still bent of spending 300 MILLION on pimped out golf carts to shuttle their pimply butts around DC with.
This after berating bank execs for 500 thousand dollar office renovations.
Pimply Dem butts?
Yuck!
What really blows me away is the socialized health care provisions.
It’s much worse than the Canadian health care plan.
That and the provisions for busy work construction of buildings that will sit empty, roads that go nowhere and aren’t needed where they are being proposed.
Versus roads that DO need repair and won’t ever get repaired, buildings that DO need repair and replacement, etc..
It’s a waste fest spending bill that has lots that does nothing for the populace except toss a thumb nose at us.
