The new Vogue cover star is turning her favourite designers into stars - much to the disapproval of fashion's old guard
Although Michelle Obama has admitted - shockingly, considering the context - that she is less interested in clothes than politics and children in her upcoming interview in Vogue, after less than a month in the White House she is already proving to wield greater influence over the fashion world than the industry has known in years.

Below the knee. 3/4 sleeves. More like a First Lady.
The media DESPERATELY wants Michelle to be the next Jackie-O...
The only mark she’s liable to make in fashion is a kid mark.
Yes, indeed. And I think that would look beautiful on her.
<>< LOL ><>
I know she is required to hate the channel, but she really needs to go in Fox News.
Their “green room” can make Raggedy Ann look like Barbie, including the wardrobe.
As much of an assault on the eyes Hillary has been over the years (old crusty, anyone?), she at least understands protocol. She knows when a formal dress is required, even if unflattering, or a pantsuit, crusty as it may be. And I've got to give Hillary credit... she knew full well that she needed style help, and made a serious effort to look the part for the campaign. She obviously hired consultants and had the sense to take their advice. She IS the better for it.
This Michelle woman, OTOH, thinks she can make up her own rules, too dumb and arrogant to realize that there are traditions and concepts that are far greater than her own self. That this woman wears a summer lawn dress to a formal winter function just screams "f-u" to normal people who have dignity and class. Must be her version of "I won".
Meanwhile, Cindy McCain looks like a first lady any day of the week. Michelle will never be graceful or elegant. Not because of physical characteristics, but because the ugliness of her soul can't be masked. It's obvious she doesn't even see a need to make the effort, what with that get-up. Egads. Hillary is Audrey Hepburn compared to Mrs. Obamanation.
I just don’t understand who is handling her. I mean, is anyone? Someone ought to be dressing her. After all, she is representing America. If she wants to dress according to her poor taste, she ought to move herself, granny and the kids back to Chicago.
This is from today? From the Ford Theatre? Its another ‘garden party, Spring time tea, roll those Easter eggs’ kinda outfit. Was there ‘something’ that went over it?
Was that picture taken in a slaughter house?
The event occurred yesterday. The article is from today’s UK paper about yesterday’s event. I had to post this dumb article after our Fashion Alert thread of last evening.
Little girls all in black with sparkles are great for Christmas pictures, ONLY.
Or if they sing in the choir.
Oh my, the dress just gets worse. And worse...
So what get up did she manage today.
I didn’t see anything in today’s news, so I don’t think there was any event.
Jackie O was a gorgeous woman...and I emphasize woman. Michele O looks like football player in drag.
I hate to say bad things about a woman’s appearance, because I know she can’t help it....but good grief.
Goodness, Jacqueline Kennedy was so beautiful.
When she recently resigned after he became president, the sweetheart "job" was immediately abolished which just shows to go ya that she pulled a scam and that you can put designer clothes on a con artist but she will always be a con artist and an unfashionable one, to boot.
