Obama visits the troops at Walter Reed Freep #199
DC Chapter | 12 Feb 2009 | BufordP

Posted on 02/12/2009 2:01:04 PM PST by BufordP

Many Freepers don't believe it, and though there is very little evidence on the internet, we do now have proof that Mister Obama has from time to time spent quality time with the troops.

Mister Obama talking to a troop outside the Men's Room. Is that a bottle of Purell?

Our very stealthy PleaDeal snuck into Walter Reed behind Mister Obama's very large entourage of Secret Service agents, staffers, manicurists and pedicurists, make-up personnel, and general purpose "yes" men as they entered the facility. Once inside, she was able to take some very rare and candid photos. It's not often and it is very unlikely in the future photos like these will be available. The "O" has to prioritize a very very tight schedule. And let's be honest, He has more important things to do than serve as Commander-and-Chief. So catch it now while you can!

Staffer on her hands and knees provides an assist while B.O. does a slam dunk shooting hoops in the Walter Reed gymnasium.

Usually during the time we're out on the street on these Friday nights, we'll see one to three, maybe four troops come outside the gate, pay us a visit and say "Hello". This time, while Mister Obama was inside, several hundred troops poured out of the medical center and spilled out onto the street. I'm afraid we don't have any pictures of this. Again, PleaDeal was inside Walter Reed snapping the Obama and wasn't available to capture this remarkable scene.

Uh oh! Someone pinned a "KICK ME!" sign on Mister Obama's backside. [tee hee!]

PleaDeal reports that as they toured the various wards it was as though they were walking the streets of a ghost town ... being led by a ghost ... except for the occasional patient that was confined to their bed due to their serious injuries.

Making the peace sign posing with wheelchair-bound Sgt Deke Skruntled.

Well, that's all we have. No pictures of Freepers this night. Nobody on the street had a camera to take pictures. Damn, the bad luck. Hope you enjoyed the pics of THAT ONE!

MOAB Slogan Contest

Current MOAB has been in use for some time and is starting to show a lot of wear and tear. Time for a new one.

Here's our current Son of MOAB as seen in Freep 193. Check out the Original Mother of the MOABs

We could put the current slogan on the new one but we'd rather leave it to you to come up with a new phrase. The troops, their families, and the workers at Walter Reed have seen the existing one for some time. Let's change things up.

Keep just keep in mind that it must fit on the banner and that it should be pro-troop, that is, something that will inspire and encourage the troops, their families, and the workers at Walter Reed.

We would like to unveil the new saying on our 4th Anniversary, which would be Week 208 or April 3. We will announce the winner on that AAR thread. The cutoff for suggestions will be early March (sorry, we don't have an exact date, so just keep 'em coming until we stop posting this in the AARs).

The contest judges will be your Walter Reed AAR writers: BufordP, Kburi, Jimmy Valentines Brother, Tom the Redhunter

The grand prize will be ... bragging rights!

If you can't get to D.C. to join us but would like to do something for the wounded, you can find a wealth of ideas by FReepmailing Tom the Redhunter, Cindy-True-Supporter, VAFlagwaver, or PleaDeal.

Come join us every Friday night between the hours of 6:30pm to approx 9:30pm.

Good 'n Plenty Funny AAR, thanks.

Shame that the back up photographer (who wears a red USMC hat and smokes cigars) forget his camera. Would have been nice to see all the troops out on the corner.

No matter how hard you scrub you'll still end up with that ghost image. 'fraid you'll have to write over the top with one of those black indelible markers.

Great report, BufordP!!!

It was a horrific scene inside Walter Reed as hundreds of reporters and media sycophants trampled each other in an effort to get close to "The One". I got my leg tingled by Chris Matthews as he rushed "The One" again and again. The secret service finally had to escort him feet first from the facility.

It's a good thing most of the troops were outside and safe with you guys. There was one poor soldier in traction that the nurses tried to shield behind a partition but Katie Couric saw him and stood outside the room screeching "Mr. President! Mr. President!! I found one! Over here, your highness!" Not to be outdone, Brian Williams pretended to get his hair caught in the elevator doors thus distracting "the One" from Katie's find and allowing the duty nurses to wisk the wounded warrior out of the ward before anyone noticed that Williams was faking it.

Being good lefties and anti-war idiots, several members of the "media" broke into the Red Cross office and began wolfing down the Valentine's Day candy sent by supporters all over the country. They ate all the little heart-shaped candies except the ones that said "You're the one", which they were saving for their Dear Leader, of course. Keith Olbermann was particularly disgusting! He emerged from the office with chocolate stains all over his bright pink shirt claiming that he was attacked by some phantom Candy Stripers.

This fake but accurate report brought to you by FReeper Media.

See you guys this week!
