Final Stimulus Bill Creates Government Database that Will Hold Every Americans Personal Medical Records Thursday, February 12, 2009 By Fred Lucas, Staff Writer
(CNSNews.com) - The final version of the stimulus bill, negotiated by the Democratic leaders of the House and Senate, includes a provision creating a federal data base that will hold the personal medical records of every American, Katie Grant, spokeswoman for House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) told CNSNews.com Thursday.
The full language of the final package had not been released as of press time. But the the bills that passed both the House and Senate created an Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology and called for the coordinator to create a national database and a plan for the utilization of an electronic health record (EHR) for each person in the United States by 2014.
Asked if the provision for the utilization of an electronic health record for each person in the United States by 2014 was in the final bill agreed to by the House-Senate conference committee, Grant said, It is. She later said correct when asked a second time if this language was in the final bill.

Just like the government can’t get into your records on anything else. /s
Maybe we should ask Joe the Plumber about that!!!
Bush wiretaps suspected terrorists and it’s a crime against the right to privacy, but apparently it’s okay for Big Brother to have access to medical records.
Gotta love politcal double-standards.
Time for the lawsuits on this outrageous intrusion of privacy to begin
Perfect for a HUGE class action lawsuit. Let’s get it going now.
The provision is still in there, any bets that hes going to honor his word?????
I read here last night that it was stricken, removed!! If not, this to me is the single most abusive item in the entire bill.
They will come up with some rational such as the federal govt is an “insurer” for everybody and therefore is entitled to look at the record.
I can’t beieve I thought they would try to spread out the revolution over 4 to 8 years. They aren’t even taking that many weeks.
If Obama wants to put his health data on a national data base
O HELL NO he refused to release his and he wants ours. What right do they have to get our information from our private physicians? Time for lawsuits against doctors that hand it over.
With all the new controls and regulations, their will be an explosion in the need for coders. Unemployed people might want to consider getting training here.
Glad I could help comrade.
Long Live Amerika
Thanks Ernest.

The state shall prevail.
*sigh*
Uniform Commie gray is just *not* my color at all.
Just a though, but could be an action plan.
How about every FReeper and Lurker and everyone else we know notifying their respective physicians and hospitals that they will be sued under the existing HIPPA laws if they release any info to anybody, including the Quislings in Washington?
I posted something to that effect yesterday, but the version I looked at wasn't the final version, and I'm not even sure that the part that was struck out wasn't reinserted somewhere else.
Who the heck knows. Wouldn't surprise me if it was in there though.

IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let’s get going on this NOW! We need to organize and get going.
I’m totally with you. Who do we call? Where do we start?
I think its damned well time for another Revolution, myself.
I don’t think we have any say so. Even the Senator from Kansas said today, in the floor of the Senate, that the passage up this would cause a revolution. I think zer0 wants one.
Specter is beyond redemption.
He said he would NOT vote yes if this one in it. I am so pissed off right now............grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
We can start here. We need to get attorneys to handle the case, then the big job begins to get millions of Republicans and Democrats to join the case. Trust me, there are many democrats against this.
