PRINCETON, NJ -- Earlier this week, Sen. Patrick Leahy called for a special commission to investigate possible government wrongdoing by the Bush administration in its anti-terror policies, as well as possible attempts to politicize the Justice Department through the firing of U.S. attorneys who were viewed as potentially disloyal to the administration. While Americans appear to support some kind of investigation into these matters, no more than 41% favor criminal probes.

There is no mandate for criminal probes, but there is a mandate for some kind of probe, be it criminal or investigation by an independent panel. Looks like only ~1/3 or less of people support neither.

Here is Mister Leahy’s very model of the modern “special commissioner”.

Keeping us safe - bad

Getting us killed - good

All abuses that Democrats bestow upon America are not crimes, such as Clinton firing 100% of the Bush attorneys...the moonbat insanity continues...

Leahy is a maggot, like Hussein.

I just saw a USA Today article claiming a solid majority favor investigations of Bush officials for torture and invasion of privacy. The other headline was about how Obama has mastered every detail of the presidency in only 21 days. These people are unapologetic; and either unaware, or unconcerned, how stupid they look.

Let them overreach, so we can put them together with Latin American socialists’ style “Truth Commissions” and Stalinist style of “show trials” and “purge trials”.

We’ll know and teach the generations about the “Senator Leahy” and “Leahyism” pursuing political “enemies” and dissenters, for decades to come.

Same will be with the “Fairness Doctrine”, all the onerous “initiatives” that people didn’t vote for and didn’t care about, but rabid socialist liberal progressive Democrats do.

The “Hope” is being drained fast, and the “Change” is not one that most people were voting for ... If Republicans start playing it right and have right and cohesive leadership in place, another “change” will be coming in 2010 - a “Total Recall” - like in 1994.

Are they also going to investigate Bill Clinton firing, like, ALL of the DA’s after he’s been elected?

When do the criminal probes of the Obama administration get under way?

More to the point: When is the fraud carried out by ACORN to get Zero elected going to be investigated?

When there’s another attack on the U.S. that kills thousands, 41% of those killed will be those who wanted criminal investigations into what W did to keep them safe, once. Their families can sit around and talk of the irony.

So far, President Obama has been reluctant to pursue such investigations, but Leahy and Conyers in particular are calling for an accounting of what happened on Bush's watch.

They might better be careful what they wish for. This could blow back in their faces BIG TIME, because President Bush can just cite Democrats who favored exactly what he did, but when x42 was President. Most of them changed their tunes, when it was a Republican in the White House.
