Meltdown 101: Highlights of economic stimulus plan
Yahoo ^ | 2/12/09 | Jim Abrams

Now that there's a tentative agreement on the economic stimulus plan that President Barack Obama and other supporters hope will provide a considerable jolt to the economy, how long will it take to get infrastructure and other projects moving? And do economists think the plan is big enough to create millions of jobs?

Here are some questions and answers about the latest version of the stimulus initiative.

Q: What are the main objectives of the package?

A: A combination of tax cuts and spending incentives totaling nearly $790 billion is aimed at putting money back in the pockets of consumers and businesses and creating millions of jobs. It also looks to accomplish some long-term goals, such as making the country more energy efficient and improving the nation's crumbling roads and bridges.

Overall, the package breaks down to nearly two-thirds spending initiatives and just over one-third tax cuts.

Q: Does the bill include federal aid to the states?

A: Yes. It includes major contributions to states to help with their budget shortfalls and assure the viability of Medicaid and education programs.

Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, the moderate Republican who helped broker the deal, said the spending includes about $90 billion in increased federal matches to states to help pay for Medicaid, along with a $54 billion "fiscal stabilization" fund that states could use to build and repair schools and improve facilities at institutions of higher learning.

the stimulus money gets hoarded like the bail-out funds did, only tax cuts for the rich would offset that

Answer: Until the next election, the purpose is to buy votes.

Q: What are the main objectives of the package?

Implementing socialism either in the form of fascism or communism, with a totalitarian police state, see Venezuela.

Front and center at the microphone! Her goose is cooked, and if I was in charge the next step would be a miltary tribunal for crimes against the people to include all of those standing around the microphone, as well as those who voted Aye or will vote Aye on the final go round.

Something is still missing here. You can't tell me that that “gloss-over” we just read is everything that was to be spent and in that manner, when the bill itself is 899 pages long.

This is the magic media spin for the sell-outs and nothing more. You can't tell me that for all the decades we have been paying road use taxes, fuel taxes and excise taxes on tires, that were all intended to maintain the roads with, that somehow, these massive funds just arent’t enough to keep up with the wear and tear on our roads.

Then there is the issue of the 1.5 Trillion additional Bail-out coming from Geithner,(Goebbels) that will be sold the same way as dire, and vital to all life on the planet.

The Propaganda Ministry is clever and crafty and I'm sure the Lemming population is grateful to the three traitors for helping to save them from certain DOOM.

PS, There is nothing in the Constitution of the United States of America that gives these individuals one shred of cover for what they are attempting to do. As a matter of fact, the only thing shredded is their oath of office and the document they have sworn to protect.

Congressional Oath of Office

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”

Sorry folks, these lying and deceiving vipers don’t have a clue what “bearing true faith and allegiance means. Absolutely stunning in their arrogance.

In a moment of lucidity last night it dawned on me that all we have to do is keep reminding the country that conservatives warned against this measure. In the House it couldn't get a single Republican vote and got 11 Democratic votes. The only reason it got any Republican votes, and passed, was because of the three RINO’s who reverted to nature.

Face it, there's only two ways this can go. Either it will work as they say, or it will fail as we say. Either way it's a winner for us. Not America, but for the conservative movement.

This, and the Fairness Doctrine, is doing more to unite the conservative movement than anything in the last 10 years.

This is great, Team Obama has done as much or more to help the conservative movement in two weeks than Jimmy Carter did in four years.

My moment of lucidity left me with the refreshing feeling that the fun has only started.

You know the saying that all the old ladies have on their refrigerator or hand-sewn into a sampler, “When God closes a door, He opens a window.”

Amen! And I am convinced the window He is opening is going to let in a very brisk breeze of fresh air!

Did you happen to catch the second hour of John Gibson yesterday on the radio? Powerful!

Of course, this simply cannot work. They are guaranteeing hyper inflation no matter how much they think the economy will gain. We are borrowing money here. There is interest on that money to be paid. They will be FORCED to raise taxes in the near future because of it.

Any excess revenues that might come into the treasury, will not go to reduce government administrative costs like a tax-cut economy does. Instead, they will be forced to go to pay down the interest on this loaned money we never had in the first place.

They will then try to offset the difference by printing more money (greenbacks) without monetary value. Add to that, the wasted dollars spent to “create” alternative energy, when the price of fuel goes back up, we are forced to buy foreign oil again, electrical costs double, food prices triple, etc,, they print more money and force business to increase wages.

There you have it, hyper inflation and the complete guarantee of a failed system and economy. They have literally built a skyscraper on the beach with no foundation beneath it.

Most of the zerObots I know have become silent. On Tuesday, I asked one how they liked him now. She said she is going to “give him a chance”. I asked “for how long?” Silence.

Job loss=health insurance loss for many. The ancillary health care professionals (vision/dental/chiropractic) with whom I have spoken seem to hope that with National Health, their practice will pick up again. No one wants to deal with the thought of what the level of payment will be under the government.

Everyone seems to think the national system will be totally free. They base this on Medicaid. Yet, Medicare is not free, except for Part A, which is what we have paid for with 50 years of taxes. Part B and supplemental policies are not free. I expect a lot of anger when people discover this and the government is forced to lecture them on TINSTAAFL.

I will just shrug and ask them why they believed a politician.
