From NRO:
Bush’s eight-year-long spending spree, his signature on at least 69,341 earmarks, his barely touched veto pen, his $783 billion Medicare drug entitlement, and his massive financial bailout (so far: $3.35 trillion in actual outlays and $13.35 trillion in total guarantees and commitments) apparently are not enough. Bush believes that what taxpayers really need is yet another $40 billion for Detroit to spend with little assurance that automakers will make the major reforms needed to restore their competitiveness.

It's very similar to the economics of Mussolini's fascist regime...

"In actual fact, it is the State, i.e. the taxpayer, who has become responsible to private enterprise. In Fascist Italy the State pays for the blunders of private enterprise. As long as business was good, profit remained to private initiative. When the depression came, the Government added the loss to the tax-payer's burden. Profit is private and individual. Loss is public and social."
--Under the Axe of Fascism, by Gaetano Salvemini, p. 416 (1936).
Salvemini goes on to discuss the bailouts, which were targeted to large corporations but not small businesses. All of this sounds familiar to everyone, I'm sure.

"In December 1932 a Fascist financial expert, Signor Mazuchelli, estimated that more than 8.5 billion lire had been paid out by the Government from 1923 to 1932 in order to help depressed industries (Rivista Bancaria, December 15th, 1932, p.1,007). From December 1932 to 1935 the outlay must have doubled."
--Under the Axe of Fascism, by Gaetano Salvemini (1936).

But he also pointed out that using the same economics as Fascists did not mean fascism was being adopted (using FDR's America as an example).

I don't believe President Bush was a fascist. I believe he was just employing its rotten economic policies.

The Reagan Project

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a Republican/Conservative congress in February, 2011 on the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ronald Reagan?

Let’s start it now by working on campaigns, getting good candidates to run, supporting the Bill of Rights, etc.

So did Barney Frank.

How's that? He won reelection with some 70%. That's the Massholes of the 4th Congressional District of Massachusetts, a prosperous area west of Boston, not some inner city ghetto or inbred hillbillie district. They can't be bothered with the facts. Not until they are laid off, anyway.

Yeah, probably Peronism is even worse than Castroism. It has taken a once thriving country and made it what it is today.

The drug thing was just a ploy to get re-elected, sad to say,

The problem is he believes his own (MSM) press. Who of course are all writing like they want to literally have sex with him.

Example (from last summer's premature victory lap):

The Democrats have NEVER made an argument. Just demonization of “the rich” and “white people” and “big corporations,” etc.

Obama can’t make any ARGUMENT for ANY of his policies. They are simply doctrinaire Stalinism. He doesn’t have any reasons to OFFER—because all he ever LEARNED was to hate “the rich” and “white people” and “big corporations.”

The problem is that Obama is God’s instrument for punishing the American People for accepting abortion, euthanasia, sodomy (Bill’s and Monica’s as well as others’), perjury, the pornography/masturbation industry, theft, government usurpation of schooling and other FAMILY functions, etc., etc.

Which means that Obama is going to have a great deal of “success,” in order that the American People receive their punishment.

The U.S. gets what we deserve.
We knew what was going to happen if we gave liberal dems and this chicago hood politician veto proof majorities in both houses.
Socialism and a distinct french look.
And if somehow this “magic negro” fails to stay around his full term then we get joe the drunk as our ultimate leader.

I good friend of mine is telling me that she’s convinced that we have had our last Presidential election.

The projected scenario is an increasingly tanking economy in combination with an inevitable major terrorist attack — or perhaps nuke from Iran — will lead to emergency powers and suspension of elections.

Not likely, but plausible.

Fascism is described as an authoritarian nationalist ideology focused on solving economic, political, and social problems. Fascists aim to create a single-party state in which the government is led by a dictator who seeks unity by requiring individuals to subordinate self-interest to the collective interest of the nation.

SOUND FAMILIAR??
::::::::::::::
Sure does. From the school of Marx and Alinsky.

[This is the trope of a party that has lost its ability to make an argument.]

Democrat “leaders” don't care about winning arguments. They have the power for two years to loot our assets and expand their constituency in a desperate scheme to buy enough votes for 2010. Bill Clinton—worried the GOP would outspend him in ‘96—traded priceless classified technology to China in exchange for a few million dollars in laundered campaign money. Obama is willing to gamble the global economy to pay off and empower the rabble who elected him.
