If enough people break a small and oppressive regulation, something will have to be done at the government level. Think Tea Tax and Boston Harbor. Right now the inmates are running the asylum that is America (and Canada, as referenced by Steyn). It’s time for us to revolt. If our phonecalls and pleas to representatives are falling on deaf ears, then we have to do something to make them take notice. No, not bombing a federal building in Oklahoma City. But how about the equivelent of what Mr. Steyn and Ms. Shaidle do every day? They ridicule the rules, post over-the-top and “offensive” articles, and make people laugh at the absurdity of silencing thought and opinion.

The BEST method that I see would be for all state legislatures to start with passing

Sovereignty under the 10th amendment

resolutions.

We’ll start there, then work up to “this federal law will not be enforced in the state of X because the legislature sees no Constitutional authority for the federal government on this issue”.

I saw that website but didn't want to buy anything and definitely didn't want to be on their customer list when the feds pay them a visit.

Everybody has a limit. You just have not reached yours at this time.

Sooner or later, gotta step up to the plate and take a swing.

Paint ball guns are excellent counter measures regarding speed and traffic light cameras.

When you get money bearing the tax-cheat-in-chief’s signature, write TAX CHEAT on the bill.

>>For my state, buy a cheap but reliable car so as to lessen property tax revenue. (I live in South Carolina), and I have yet to give up my terrific 98 Oldsmobile Intrigue that only costs me $93 in prop tax. (Still runs great!)<<

Yeah, I do the same. Regarding the tickets, I agree with you. I was telling friends roughly two years ago that they can expect more traffic cops writing tickets. Only thing is, I haven’t seen it. I’ve been pulled over twice this last year and was only warned. Both times were nine over the limit. So I don’t know.

I do always wear my seat belt and make sure my license plate light is functioning.

I've been wondering how we can stop the beast (the corrupt government in Washington) short of armed insurrection.

The Government must fear We The People, not the other way around.

Danae - I do think that is the answer. I really do. Or just not send the damn thing in. I guess a lot of people have taxes taken out already so they need to send it in to get their money back. Mass tax subversion. If millions do it there is no way they can do anything.

I don’t deal with resturants anyway. Living in the country makes it easy to deal under the table for a lot of things.

You are missing the point...what do you mean by that? The feeling is still the same france or no.

What do expect is going to happen? All of a sudden the American people are going to grow a set? I don’t think so.
