Executive Orders Imposing Financial Sanctions Against Individuals and Entities

Through Executive Orders 13315, 13224, 13382, 13338, 13399, 13441, and 13460, the President of the United States has imposed financial sanctions on Syrian individuals and entities for involvement in proliferation of weapons of mass destruction; association with al Qaida, the Taliban or Osama bin Laden; or destabilizing activities in Iraq and Lebanon; or benefiting from public corruption.

The U.S. Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) administers these sanctions against individuals and entities that operate in Syria by blocking assets and prohibiting U.S. persons to have financial transactions with them.

There are currently 20 individuals in Syria that have been sanctioned and are listed on the OFAC Excluded Parties List (EPL).

Former U.S. President Bush had forbid U.S. commerce with Syria expect for food and medicines. The Obama administration has been more lax in its approach to countries which support terrorism.

Syria has destabilized Lebanon. It occupied it for a long time. Now it still does in part by proxy, funding and arming Hezbollah in the South. It has sent in terrorists into Iraq to kill our troops and Iraqis. It has amassed a large contingent of troops next to Israel in the north.

Syria is a pariah state. There’s no ambiguity what it has been up to, or what it’s future plans are.

It has been arming the Palestinians for decades.

These guys are just so naive. So much so it makes it hard to tell if they do the damage they do on purpose or if they're just too stupid to know the difference. In the end it doesn't matter WHY they do it, the enemy has what it wanted and they see it as a victory over the Great Satan.

We're back to ground zero. They are going to play nice and hope for reciprocity. Our enemies will take whatever they can get from us under the false pretenses being friends with a new administration and by the time Team Obama figures it out the enemy will have not been weakened one bit and they will be out of office.
